Wonder if the better-than-BF-price means a new Ultra is close to announcement. The Ultra LT (only at Walmart) got a refresh announced recently.

A backlit remote would be nice. Also, they could fix the annoying, random HDCP errors.

I'm thinking not as they usually announce a new one in September and release it in October. They already announced the 2, I think, new sticks and LT version last month.

Thanks, Roku bit dust after a lot of power blips and spikes today (WA Storm). This just in time to replace a 3 year old Ultra that served pretty well. I do see this doesn't has TosLink and Micro SD slot anymore, I never used those either way.

These earbuds are traaaaaaaaash... more of something barely decent for a child. Seriously, these are like 99 cent store quality. I'm sure someone will say how good they are but they're lying.

This 2020 model doesn't come with JBL branded ear buds. It comes with generic/Roku branded ear buds. It was the 2019 version that came with JBL ear buds (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WVF9SL5/). Not sure if the JBL ear buds were really any better than generic ones.

It just works. With 5 people in the house no way we want to fumble with managing Bluetooth and the battery on the remote lasts a good while. Sometimes old tech is good. Sure I use Bluetooth too, but for shared resources simple is better. Amazon stick supports it if you can stomach their interface.

Oh, I'm a big fan of hen TRS. But these days most of the headphones in my house are BT, and (with the exception of the lousy Roku ones and and odd $2 pair in a junk drawer) I'm the only one who even owns a pair with a TRS plug. The new models *have* bluetooth, they just don't support it for transmitting to headphones. That little bit of info isn't on the box.

I guess their answer would be private listening via the phone app and Bluetooth.

Just a heads up - no YouTubeTV on new Roku device. I know you still can access YTTV via YouTube, but it's not the same.
