Worked for me a couple weeks ago. Pretty slick deal if you need the tools

Got it a few weeks ago. Didn't need the tools but am glad to replace the brushed versions. These ones are so light and small with the same torque.

I also got this deal a few weeks ago. Tools are really lightweight. I am very happy with them, but I will share a con - the impact driver doesn't have much torque until it begins to impact, then it is really loud. But it's incredibly light and I'm in the middle of a rehab right now and the set has been working great. The drill has lots of torque, the chuck is great, its super lightweight... I love it. As far as the impact driver... meh... it does have plenty of power when it impacts, but it is really loud. Trade-offs I guess. For a sub $100 price, this is a no-brainer. Just to clarify, yes I know the impact isn't a drill, and the "impact" is literally in its name, but my other brushed, and brushless ryobi impact drivers have a lot more torque before impact. Another huge plus is the low speed RPM. They have the capability to spin at an incredibly low speed with the variable trigger and sometimes that is needed. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Yes. Just take it to store to return.

How rugged and reliable are these, for non-pro but still fairly regular use, especially on cars (more the driver than the drill obviously)? Both tools in the Sears Craftsman brushed drill & impact driver kit I bought a few years ago are falling apart and I need something more reliable. These being brushless make them even more appealing.

Also, how does the hack work?

Deal is showing 129 for me. What's the zip code I need to put in to adjust the price?

I'm also curious how the hack works?

I'm guessing that you have to return a battery or two, or the charger, as that's how other hacks tend to work. But a single low power battery with these is almost useless, and no charge is literally useless, unless you already have a bunch of compatible batteries and chargers. Combined with their annual $100 for a basic tool + 2 high capacity batteries this might make more sense if so. But I'm just speculating. The OP has to explain the hack, even if lots of people already know it.

You add the battery, which is a free gift. You cancel or return the battery to get ~$30-$40 back.

I got in on this a couple weeks ago. Had the battery shipped to the house with the drill. It was an easy seamless return in store to get the refund. I had the non-brushless version of both of these tools which have been working great for me for a long time. I appreciate that these are lighter, more compact and more energy efficient.

My general thought is buy cheap and if you use it enough that it needs to be replaced, go to a prosumer level.

There is a previous thread about this exact same deal that a lot of people have commented. Only difference is that you don't need to select a specific store number. All you have to do is add the free gift, which is an extra battery (a third battery) to your order. You return that battery in store and that is where you get the refund. You keep the included two batteries along with the other items. Great deal, thanks OP!
