RYOBI introduces the ONE+ HP 18V Compact Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit with 1/2 in. Drill/Driver, 1/4 in. Impact Driver, (2) 18V Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Compact Batteries, 18V Charger, and Tool Bag. The 1/2 in. drill/driver is compact at only 6.4 in. in length, giving better access to the tightest workspaces and overhead applications. It's also equipped with a brushless motor that delivers up to 400 in./lbs. of torque for maximum power when drilling and driving through tough materials. Other features include a 2-speed gearbox (0-450 and 0-1,700 RPM) and a 24-position clutch for maximum control while drilling and driving. And for quick bit changes, the 1/2 in. single sleeve ratcheting chuck with unique knurling pattern gives you that all important grip. At just 5.3 in., the impact driver is 26% more compact and over 23% lighter than our brushed impact driver. The brushless motor provides up to 1,700 in./lbs. of torque and up to 3,800 IPM to quickly drive a variety of fasteners. The impact driver features a variable speed trigger for precise control of up to 2,900 RPM and a knurled 1/4 in. hex collet with one-handed bit release. Best of all, it is part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 225 cordless tools that all work on the same battery platform. Yeah I got in on the $93 deal. In any case I am super happy with the brushless drill and driver. They are so small and light and produce more power than my older brushed ones. Great buy.

What is the hack you guys are talking about? I have seen it in many posts but don't know what it means. Could you please explain if you can?

I've been debating on power tools but don't know if brushless is worth separating from the $199 set. Thoughts? I wouldn't use these too often

Basically, a lot of these deals come with batteries. Some of us have more batteries than we know what to do with. Sometimes the deal is structured as "buy these tools, get a free battery(ies)." So, the battery(ies) aren't really "free" but rather just proportional to the overall cost of the "deal." For example, "buy 2 tools, get a free battery" for $130. But you can return just the battery for a $40 credit (or whatever HD determines is the proportional value). You can usually split the order so you can have the tools sent to your home and you can choose in-store pick-up for the battery. If you never pick up the battery, the $40 will be credited back to your card after a while.

Just moved into a new home. Do I need both or one of them can compensate for the other? Also is this a good price or wait for a better deal?

I feel like these combos or pricing aren't as good as previous year combos. I got a brushless impact driver, jigsaw, bag, and (2) 3.0 ah batteries for $99.00 in 2019.

And they won't ever be as good. Look around, inflation and shortages everywhere.

I would go for these if your not using them much. Light weight is far more important most of the time vs. Brute force. For homeowner use even a 12v set like he Bosch or maybe Milwaukee might fit the bill.
