Every time a deal on Hue bulbs pop up, the same discussion happens. "Still way too expensive for colored light bulbs"
But if you're into the Hue brand, you know exactly why you like them, and know the price is the premium for a premium product. Both opinions are valid.
Personally, I love Hue bulbs - They're faster and more responsive than any other brand I've used by a long shot. It's so insanely rare that they disconnect and need to be reset, and they last a VERY long time. I have 18 of these bulbs, 8 recessed lights, and 2 light strips, and in the last 5 years i've only ever had 1 bulb die, and it was still in the warranty period. The Hue Hub is an absolute must if you plan on getting the most out of the bulbs, and if you've already got one they flip on eBay pretty quick for $25-35. They respond immediately to Alexa commands, and even faster using the Hue app. My entire downstairs is on Hue bulbs, with 2 floating remotes that control them all at the same time depending on what my family is doing they change between scenes and colors. I have a Hue motion sensor for midnight walking and morning coffee that turns them on like nightlights when I leave the bedroom. These lights go dimmer than any other colored bulbs I've used, which is a plus in the middle of the night. The colors are by far more vibrant and adjustable than any other colored bulb out there as well.
That said, if you don't need any of that, these bulbs are indeed way over priced for you, and this deal gives you no benefit.
If you like the Hue universe, this deal is a good way to expand your system (selling the hub for $25 drops the price to about $34/bulb compared to the normal $50), or jump in and see if you like it (using the hub means $40/bulb). You'll often see deals like this, or 3 bulbs + Hue Remote for a similar price. I love these deals, and always use it as an opportunity to convert the next room in my house over to Hue
