They charge a convenience fee to book online? How's about I just watch ghostbusters at home and call it a night.

If you buy a select Kellogg's cereal you can get a free digital copy of the first Addams Family animated movie. I found it at Target. It was posted awhile back in this thread.

Taking the kiddos to watch Ghostbusters on the big screen might be fun.

Former movie theater manager here.

To each their own, but it some cases, this is little more than a Blu-Ray rip being projected on the big screen. I've been a part of several of these and it never looks and sounds as good as the standard digital prints that theaters show nowadays.

The last one I went to was an anniversary screen for Back to the Future. All the audio was coming from the center channel and the theater had no padding on the walls, so the dialogue sounded like it was coming from a tin can and everything else was exceedingly loud. Picture quality looked washed out and dark as it was likely coming from the pre-show projector and not the main projection unit.

Hopefully it's improved since then but I wouldn't take a chance on it. Amazon Prime has the HD version for $3.99, I'd stick with that if you don't already own it otherwise.

Even though you reserve the seat at our theater they tell people they can sit wherever they want so good luck getting the seat you chose without an argument.

Not to mention the time we got carded (in my 50's) and wouldn't let my 26 year old son in to see the movie because he forgot his license..
Haha there happened to be two people next to me that tried taking seats that didn't belong to them. When the people came that had those seat numbers, the two people just got up and left. Sucked for me because I got 4 bozos sitting next to me that wouldn't shut up the entire time. I felt like I was sitting next to little kids with all their asides about the movie.

We went and they definitely used some sort of edited cut because a few scenes were missing, notably the library scene with the card file and books flying around.

For $15 a year, you can get the AMC Stubs membership. I had that for a few years, before upgrading to A-List. Stubs was super worth it. No convenience fees, earned points on everything you buy, $6 Tuesday tickets (used to be $5), free birthday popcorn & soda…
Harkins is $7 tickets all day. Support your local theater chain. Screw AMC

Just FYI, it's a hard 80s PG. If it was rated today, it might be PG-13.

Great movie. I remember it as a kid. Feels like things were much less political back then.
Watch Major Payne, and you'll be shocked by how much Hollywood has changed. Wayans played the lead character, and they still wouldn't make that movie today! I guess Chapelle might do it... Wink
