Most of 2.0 is backwards compatible but not everything. Half organizer is one of those things that will not work with 1.0 cuz there is no flip up to in center of lid for 1.0. Other things are 1.0 radio does not fit 2.0 and 4 port rapid charger will not fit 1.0 but you can make the charger fit 2.0 if you grind plastic on underside of charger. Did that to my charger works great. and 2.0 box will not stack on top of open top tote but tote can stack on 2.0 box

ToughSystem 1.0 doesn't have the retractable mounting points in the center of the box lids to keep these in place (see the close up photos in OP for clarification).

Obvs if you don't have at least one 2.0 box, a major point of functionality isn't available for your 1.0 boxes. Then this OP box becomes just another stackable rugged small parts box. Albeit, one with improved latches, but still just another rugged box.

They need to make a 2.0 full size organizer and most importantly 2.0 drawer unit! I want the 2.0 latching system for the best box. The drawers. And if it was 2.0 the drawer would be slightly longer cuz 2.0 boxes are slightly longer and would be nice if a tad deeper too

I bought two of the 1.0 2-drawer boxes on a flash deal last holiday season. Although they connected to the 2.0 boxes just fine, they were total crap. Very flimsy. Returned them. Major disappointment.

Did you have the old ones with the black push button or the yellow handle to open the drawer? I use them daily for work. Push button 1 total junk but yellow handle drawers work decent no drawer sag issues and mine loaded up but the yellow handle is the weak point and breaks eventually. Only good thing is ive only paid for 2 and ended up with 5 cuz dewalt use to warranty them over the phone and not want the old 1 back. Now they always wants the old back now tho. Took some boxes home didnt need 5 at work lol. Although the boxes they have now the yellow handle design is changed a little from dewalt and its held up fine without breaking for awhile now. And also the drawer is jus too valuable that i can get in it without unstacking so indeal with the issues
