This classic deal is back. Considering inflation... not bad. Perfect starter set of tools. Mine are still chugging along when I got this deal many years ago. (Has come back every Q4 for the past 5 years)

Couple of notes since I know these questions will always arrive:

- Is it Brushless? No. These are the standard non-fuel brushed M12. If you need brushless there are a few good M12 Fuel deals posted around SD as well.

- I'm new to power tools but am buying a house soon, is this a good starter set? Yes, these are some of the better grade tools you get as a new home owner. The ratchet is the only tool that probably won't be used for home use (it's mainly used in automotive), but it's an easy tool to sell as it's very popular.

- Is this a good deal? Yes. But only if these tools fit your needs.

Do you literally go on every drill post and post the same comment over and over? It's annoying and not needed. Your probably not even in the market for a drill set.
While this is good, if you check the latest brushless hack deals, you could get a
FUEL drill and driver combo for $95, a FUEL Hackzall for about $85 and a brushed ratchet for $85ish or less. I know no flashlight and more expensive. But that includes 3 brushless and one brushed tools with one 2a and TWO 4a batteries and 2 bags. I think brushless tools is a better deal right now.
Agreed. I've finished many projects with my Milwaukee M18 brushed drill/impact driver from 2011. Driven/drilled thousands of deck screws, pocket holes, and lag bolts. I use my drill with wheel brush attachment. They're still going strong on the original batteries too (they don't last as long of course). If I was a contractor would these have lasted as long? Maybe not. When I was doing telecom I would burn out Dewalt XRP hammerdrill motors every 1 to 2 years. My personal experience was the Milwaukee and Makita lasted 5+ years doing the same work. Thus why I bought the Milwaukee for my personal use and have been happy for the last 10 years.

Is brushless better? Probably. Is it needed for your average person? No.

All these Milwaukee deals have been driving me crazy lately... I just bought into the M18 system and now this deal is beckoning me into the M12 line :T

I have the M18 Drill, Driver, Top-off power station, hackzall and then just grabbed the Fuel Hackzall, Blower and Work light from the most recent deal where you get one of those tools with the 2x 5ah batteries.

I have owned all these tools but have since upgraded to all brushless EXCEPT the 3/8" drive ratchet! I purposely have kept the brushed version of M12 ratchets including the 1/4" and 1/2" drive because the heads and tools themselves (brushless) are double the size of the brushed versions. In a car environment smaller is better. Summary, great tool set and you can't go wrong especially at this price!

This is a better starter kit than the one I picked up 3 years ago (rotary tool instead if light + ratchet).
Beware, once you get this you'll want to replace most of your tools with M12s ...

Got this set 3ish years ago for the same price during their Father's Day sale. They've been used for automotive maintenance and around my home and Im really impressed with them. I haven't ever felt the need to go brushless. I would like to get bigger capacity batteries eventually but having two batteries has been good at mitigating that problem. That sawzaw is really useful because of how compact it is. I recently used that to cut copper water pipes when I installed our water softener in our home. I've used the drill the most. Ratchet and flashlight are second most used, then impact driver and sawzaw last.

They still work perfect to this day. They are just dirtier looking. I recommend this set. Would buy again if I had to do it all over again.

If I mean if you want to say " hey look I'm part of the milwaukee family" buy this. Excluding the ratchet everything in this kit looks bare bones basic. I'm sure it will perform at ryobi diy lvl but not a amazing deal. Especially with those 2 1.5ah battery.

I bought this set a couple years ago for the same price (around black friday) Totally worth it. I originally bought the M12 drill/impact for ~150 bucks. This came up for sale a year later, and I loved it so much I picked this set up and gave my old pair to my brother. The ratchet comes in handy and if you put a 1/4 inch magnetic bit on it, it can be used as a right angle screw driver. I have since upgraded again to the m12 Fuel set, but honestly I still find myself grabbing this drill/driver since its lighter. But the M12 fuel for anything involving driving through studs are harder wood. Really never use my m18 since the m12 fuel is so strong.
