As far as I can tell, the "A" model looks like the newer model
but it has a totally different panel. Not sure if "not as good" is correct, just different.Edit: as Champagne13 pointed out, my previous comment based on the above Rtings link was for the 55" and not this 85" so disregard the part of my post about it being a different panel. I have no idea what I am talking about.

The Q80T was the 2020 model. The Q80A is the 2021 model. But with TVs, newer doesn't always mean better b/c manufacturers are always looking for ways to cut cost/increase profit margins. As much as I love Samsung TVs (I own 2, maybe 3 soon), they've been getting slightly worse each year for the past few years.
As far as I can tell, the "A" model looks like the newer model but it has a totally different panel. Not sure if "not as good" is correct, just different.
