First off, I am a Costco guy myself and wouldn't pay for a Sam's Club membership.
If I get a $45 gift card for a $45 membership - it's FREE. I don't understand the debate.
On top of it, Amex Offer has been pretty reliable for me. And if it says $25 statement credit is on the table, I don't have reason not to believe it.
Update 2: data points suggest this deal does stack. Many users reported getting both Sam's gift card and Amex credit. It does take a loooong time, 5 weeks for the sam's gift card and 30 days for amex credit for me personally.

Not a sams club fan, compared to costco. But getting paid $25 to take a membership is ok.

One more thing. When I did this, I did not get the automatic you just used your deal email from Am Ex. It just showed up on it's own as a statement credit.
