The 40v inverter with a new 4Ah battery would likely keep a 60W incandescent bulb lit for (144Wh)(.95)/(60W)/(.85) = 1.9 hrs, not 2.5 hrs.
For a small load like a 12W LED bulb the inverter's idle load current becomes a big factor. I've measured the idle draw current on this inverter to be about 8.3W. Therefore with a new 4Ah battery this inverter will keep a 12W LED bulb illuminated for more like (144Wh)(.95)/(12W+8.3W)/(.85) = 5.7 hours, not 13 hours.
I've measured the built-in LED light as drawing 2.1W. One might think that with a 4Ah battery and no other load the built-in LED could remain illuminated for (144Wh)/2.1W = 68.6 hours. But no, with the idle draw factored in the time is more like (144Wh)(.95)/(2.1W+8.3W)/(.85) = 15.5 hrs.
I really like the Ryobi 40v inverter, but it does have its limits. IMHO it's well worth $50, especially if you already own one or more of the batteries.

Should I get into the 40v also?? What is everyone's opinion on the 40v family?

Biggest tip is to not run the batteries all the way down, or store them drained - they will go into a sleep mode that will make them seem dead. There are some YouTube videos on how to revive them out there, and you may even find some 'free' revivable batteries in the battery recycle bins at your local home improvement store, if you are into hardcore slickdealin.
