Not really a broken strap that will kill ya, its whatever comes unhooked and goes flying will.

Each situation is different, but for the most part, kinetic recovery ropes are much better than straps.

using this with soft shackles will be much safer than metal shackles.

this is more like tow strap not for yanking or shock load.

Nice find!

FYI - the link in the post works but the 'See Deal' button doesn't take you to a valid product.

Nice deal. I wish there was an easy way to cut this and add loops to make a couple shorter tree and or other lifting straps. I'm guessing a commercial tarp place could sew new, strong-enough loops but that would probably cost more than just buying the right straps in the first place.

Are these things safe or is it a widowmaker? The breakout force on a stuck vehicle may be much higher than the rating of this strap.

Does storing it in the truck in the south Texas heat make it deteriorate? I've got one I'd guess was rated higher that I got at an estate sale several years ago. Looks like it might be decades old. It's got an oil film on it, perhaps for longevity?

If it isn't tagged with its rating,i wouldnt trust using it for anything near it's intended use.
Keeping them out of the sun seems to be the biggest issue here, lo/high temp's dont degrade it but the UV from the sun will.
