BTW, unless you want to go all in I'd personally avoid the free trial. Echelon is a sleazy company:

"
Subscription service is a new low. It reminds me of an old predatory gym practice, or any other late night TV, fly-by-night, credit card skimmer at the gas pump company. The initial billing setup is smooth as silk and easy but if their is a problem get ready for a root canal from your crazy uncle.

They overcharged my card, literally a year early, and it is impossible to contact customer service with access to the billing error to correct it. The only way to fix this mistake is to scan your account information and email it to the call center somewhere in Asia so they can "escalate it"....how convenient and I am sure, trouble free.

You cannot cancel without speaking to another call center "customer retention" crew but at least they don't answer.....so you effectively cannot cancel. WORST experience ever, you literally have to cancel your credit card to get rid of this leech. Now if you are lonely, and would like some interactions with someone 10 time zones away, then sign up but don't say you weren't warned"
Wouldn't give my money to them. They are a sleezy company. They screwed me over the initial trial period. Unilaterally changing it from 6 months to 1 month and started charging my credit card. Didn't notice it until a few months in. If I wasn't past the return period would have returned the bike.

Read so many stories like this. Assuming you can avoid the trial altogether and never need to give them cc details?

You can, but it spoke to the ethics of the company. Rather lose a customer than do the right thing esp. when the right thing is just a free trial to online workouts that was promised. So, rather not do business with them.

Once you flash it to a standard Android OS you can just install the Peloton app which is only 12.99 a month for one person, while the Peloton bike is 39.99 for up to 10 users. So for one person getting this and flashing to the app is actually a pretty cheap option, and you can switch to zwift too if you want

For what it's worth, I was able to cancel online just yesterday which is new. Previously I had to call in to cancel. So... Improvement?
