Wtf does this even mean
Some monitors have a feature where they take a 4k input and downscale it to 1440p. Basically the opposite of how some TVs/blu-ray players have an upscaling feature where they'll take a 1080p and use AI to extrapolate it to 4k.

If you value better and more vibrant color, the IPS is better. If you want better blacks and faster response times i.e. for gaming, the VA monitor is better.
VA panels do have better blacks, but usually VA panels have very slow response times for darker colors, so unless you go with Samsung's high end VA panels, you typically get dark smearing. I do not recommend other VA panels for gaming.

Might as well spend a little more and get 1 inch bigger screen, 4k resolution, HDR10, Shadow Boost with the Asus TUF VG289Q1A: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Premi...083Z2RPB9/
That's $110/50% more, not "a little".

I purchased ViewSonic VX2718-2KPC-MHD 27 Inch WQHD 1440p 165Hz 1ms Curved Gaming Monitor back 1 mo ago from Amazon at $199....so far happy with my purchase.

Curved, 165Hz, and G-sync capable....

This is different model, not curved, and not 165Hz.
Adding info for those wanting price comparison.
I missed that one, sadly. It was a steal

I have had mine for several months, now. Paid $350 with no regrets. Great for gaming but was purchased to supplement my 4k 60hz editing dispaly. Was happy to see it gets an average DeltaE of 0.4.

does anyone know if this accepts 4k signal from ps5?
When I set up my nephews PS5 I saw that it was fake 4K more like a 1440P upscale in games . So I'm sure it should be okay sense it wasn't really truly pumping out 4K. My monitor would select 1440P when I would turn it on with PS5 connect and 4K with my PC conncetes

I have this one, been using it for the last couple of months and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. Image is crystal clear and good response rates, the only downside it has is that is sits in a fixed height stand. It supports vesa though but that's an extra accessory to consider.

So this is a 2k monitor buddy... just a heads up when you see that 1440p. I honestly don't think it's worth buying a 4K monitor for a ps5... TV is more than fine...

I Bought the same in Amazon.
Yes this is different. I'm wondering if it is better.
This vs VX2718-2KPC-MHD
IPS vs VA
8bit+FRC vs 6bit+FRC
144Hz vs 165Hz
Flat vs Curved
I personally would take IPS over VA. Would even pay extra. The difference is colors makes a bigger difference than refresh rate for most people. Especially true at 144hz vs 165hz.

I've yet to see a VA panel that can beat a good IPS panel in colors but I'm always up to learn about new things if anyone got any.

27" 144hz IPS QHD from a known brand for $220 is a hell of a deal. Great find!

Do you know many video cards that can do 4k at more than 60hz?

Some displays can take a higher resolution input than they actually display. I have no idea on this specific device but no reason to be snarky Stick Out Tongue
not this one
