Vizio has 3 Yr mfg warranty.
Hisense only 1. Also overall reviews for U6G are better but equally worse reviews for their QC and panel lottery.
I have had 2 vizios till now and never had any issues .. so personally I would go with Vizio

Buggy software is the only reason I havent bought a Vizio, atleast going by reviews and feedback. Is that still the case?
Best advice I've read is buy a TV for the picture quality and then get your own smart box of choice (Google TV, AppleTV, Roku, etc).

I have the 43 M Series that was on clearance recently from Costco in-store. The smartcast interface seems fast and responsive. I've been a Roku fan. Roku Ultra on my main TV, TCL 6 series with roku built in for the basement. But I have no problem with the Smartcast software. Buying another Roku Ultra is always in my back pocket if I deem it neccessary but so far, for what I do with smart apps, all I need is Netflix, fast load, and a responsive remote control and so far it checks all the boxes.

I bought the 2020 H1 the day it came out last year for $760 ($800 minus 5% for using my Wal Mart CC) and it has been great and has run flawlessly.
I just found out yesterday that the hdmi isn't working. It recognizes my Nintendo switch but won't display anything. I'm gonna try my laptop later today to test.

Less than 5% off, not slick. In my opinion even 10% off is hardly slick but should probably be the low mark for posting here.

Have owned a few HDTVs over the years. Bought a 40" 1080p Philips early on after the HDTV transition - recently gave it away due to upgrading most things to 4k, and it was too heavy to mount on the wall and have me feel safe about it.

In my immediate family, have had a Tcl, 2 Samsungs (and a Samsung monitor), 2 Sonys and 2 Vizios. Both the Vizios died / had LED strips burn out much earlier than they should have - like 3-4 years in. All the others are still going strong. The only other similar thing that has died was an original Seiki 4K TV I bought as monitor in like 2014 - I bought 2, one has died, the other is still working.

All that to say: in my experience Vizio is the least reliable brand out there of all the major ones. Would buy Omm or Insignia before I touch another VIzio.

I don't think the normal price is $629, I think it's $699 based on the price history here [joinhoney.com] it's also listed at $699 at Sams Club so I think the regular price is actually $699 and the poster just typed $629.

This or U6G 65?
I just returned a U6G. HDR was terrible with the PlayStation 5. All the colors were terribly washed out and nothing within the televisions menu nor through the PS5 would correct it. Also, as somebody whose not normally sensitive to judder, it's real bad on this television. My bedroom Sony set has no motion processing in it and camera pans are light years smoother. I really think there's a processing error with the U6G as it's so choppy with some camera panning that it feels more like a frame drop. I should also mention, the dirty screen affect on mine was horrible, as in it was basically everywhere on the screen.

Too bad this isn't in stores, having a TV shipped by UPS or FedEx is not good. Seems like a good price for a large screen and with a 3-year warranty. I suppose you could get the Costco membership, get the TV and then cancel the membership after.
It is in stores. Just saw it earlier today.

Does this mean 4 years of warranty if paid with a Costco Citi card?

Based off the way their shipping reads it seems like Costco actually delivers it similar to what Bestbuy does with GeekSquad.

Do it! I have had my first Vizio for over 10 years. I got it before the smart tv was a thing and 1080p had just come out! The thing still works great (unlike all my friends tv's that they've had to replace over the years like the roku or Sony). I put it side by side my newer 2019 Vizio (bought a new one only because I wanted a bigger screen). The 10+ year Vizio is still going strong! I've never had any issues with it and works like new. So of course I will always stick with Vizio! They even sent me a brand new remote for free after mine got stuck in a blanket and went through the washer and didn't work for a couple days. Great company and great tv's for the price!
Sorry but this experience is 100% irrelevant for buyers in 2021. Vizio today has tons of QC and software issues which make most of their TVs a chore to use. Any other budget brand is a better choice, unfortunately.
