Competes ok with cheaper brands; brightness is an issue since they do local dimming and that means the zones are far and few between which makes the images suffer from lower contrast

It's a decent option if the offerings aren't available at least; would hate to see the lower tier that vizio has if they are wanting $750 but its ok price per diagonal screen inch? Not bad

60 hertz TV's should all be sold for less than $400 these days... just my opinion I guess, but watching football on such a tv is painful.

So how much better is the 2021/2022 P Series in Comparison to the latest M series. The best deal I've seen on the 65 inch P series was like $1139, so $600 for the 65 inch and $750 for the 70 inch seems like a big deal in cost savings, but with just a 60hz screen vs 120 hz on the p series as well as a bunch of other upgrades, how big is the price gap between these two vs how much of an overall upgrade are you getting with going p series over M. I don't see the 2021 / 2022 version of the P Series coming out with black Friday deals so is doubling the overall price worth it for Vizios flagship.

nice to see the price has dropped back down into the $700+ range. I have found it great for next-gen gaming w/ say a PS5 and Xbox Series X even though its only 60hz.

Edit- Nevermind it was M series, I recall the only reason I backed out of vizio was buggy software issue

That's a tough one, and definitely would suggest you look at both in store, if possible. The P has been their flagship (let's ignore "Quantum" for now), and I've been impressed w/ them. While the M was (is?) excellent price:performace, Vizio seems to have market-adjusted the M series, and watered it down a bit. They used to have D, E , then V ("value") in Target and similar, then they watered down the M series a bit IMHO, and the M started showing up at Target. My 3 year old M has more local dimming zones than the current models. If you like the image niceties/features of the higher end sets, and are OK paying the premium, I'd get the P and call it done, but go check the images for yourself. I love my M, but I don't know if I'd get a current M over the high-end models of budget brands.
