Building out my basement HT. Not an audiophile but definitely want it to bump. Is this a good deal? 2 subs feels like overkill for me, so I should go big on my 1 right??

2 x 15"!! 😉

If you don't have a super huge space and not as worried about subsonics, the 2x12 would be better. If you have a large space or want the lowest of lows, get 1x15 and then another 15 later when/if you feel like spending the money. Dual subs is always better to even out the bass and reduce nulls if you have the space and money to go that route.

No matter what size you go with. Two is the best way to go for good bass coverage with less localization. I have had two of these 15's since they were released and they have been great. I'd get two.

While I love my SB2000Pro, I'd go with a monolith 16. It's just nuts. It's louder below 20Hz. But, if you don't have room correction and have a use for the awesome DSP, go with the SVS.

Not likely. Monoprice doesn't go too crazy on Black Friday. They have some sales, but their biggest sales are at other times of the year.

Can you elaborate on the differences? I've got an SB2000 and have been waiting for another sale on those to add a second. Should I consider adding the Monolith 16 instead, or is it crazy talk to consider mixing the two models?

That the 500w here is RMS, while the Klipsch is peak. I think the Klipsch RMS is only 300w.

To be honest, the Klipsch at that price is definitely a fantastic deal. Will be hard to beat output per dollar spent.
