So I just bought the 77" Sony deal from Costco a few weeks back. If I got a PS5 hooked up, would this be the better TV? I game/bluray a meager 10-15% and use streaming the other times. Not sure if the better gaming capabilities of the LG set helps in my situation.

The LG C1 is a better gaming TV but, for your use case, I'd stick with the Sony.
I'm surprised this isn't getting more traction in comments. This is amazing. We paid 3300 last year for our CX from Costco and it has been everything and more than what people say about it.
It's an incredible tv. For an additional 400 off… mannnn… I would recommend this to everyone!!

Price alone will deter many customers, especially those who live in brighter rooms. OLED is incredible in most settings other than ultra bright rooms. The extra brightness can be had at more affordable prices from QLED and other LED-lit sets. $3,000 is still quite a lot of money for a TV. Especially when you can get one for half the cost for a Non-OLED set.

I completely agree with you. And for us, it is our biggest purchase aside from home/car, so it was NOT an easy pill to swallow at first. Still isn't 😂
But we've used it so much in the last year and we're both gamers so it's been AWESOME coupled with weekly movie nights. If you're on the fence, I'd say just go for it and you won't regret it.
I remember reading a comment something along the lines of, "People spend so much time in their bed, on their phones, and consuming some form of media that the 3 splurgiest purchases should be bed, phone, and tv" and it really sold me.
I'd argue that phones you can get some SOLID deals (we just got the iPhone 13 pros for ~180 each with the Costco deal/selling iPhone 11s 3rd party) so a person definitely does NOT need to "splurge" on a phone, but an affirmation to get the nice one you always have wanted since you're on it all day attitude I support.
Lastly, for those on the fence of 65" vs 77", I REALLY didn't want to get the 77" for an extra 1500 (at the time). But I read that comment above coupled with, "in the time of ~5-7 years before you upgrade TVs again, the price comes down to ~18-25 bucks a month for 40% more screen size. Just get the bigger tv and you'll never regret it." Can confirm.

This or the buydig deal? I am asking because this warranty won't cover burn in while the one in buydig's deal will.
I would 100% go with Costco over an online retailer, just because of their customer service. If anything, Costco at least has a 2nd year of manufacturer warranty.

My watch has ended.
Pulled the trigger on this one, 5 year warranty and Costco price adj protection were enough to tip me over the edge. Time to enjoy my PS5 and rest of NFL season the way it was meant to. Thanks for posting!! Arrives Monday! Let's go!
