As to note: Lots of people complained about the hinge on this laptop being broken after using it for a while. Also USB - C is data only so don't ask.

EDIT: Thought I was going crazy, BB listed in the specs this is running Win 11 S mode. XD

It is running in WIndows 10 S mode and can be upgraded to Window 11. I guess BB mixed up both to come up with "Windows 11 in S mode".

I'm a noob so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. On the USBC being data only, does that mean it won't charge with it too? I use a monitor sometimes to edit pics so I have just been plugging it in through the USBC so it runs the monitor and supplies power for the laptop at the same time. I'm assuming this won't do that?

Yes, it won't have power. If your external monitor has another port for power, then it might work.

The $379 laptop deal from Walmart last year was awesome and hard to score despite random omission of backlit keyboard and I scored one for myself so this laptop deal in comparison is a tad bit better in terms of specs and values so get this while you can

I wish they would list hinge strength in the specs. I am using a laptop with a broken hinge now and I must say hinge strength is very, very important! Once the hinge breaks (along with the screen) you can throw the laptop away Frown Thank you for the info!

if you need it now then get it. the spec is good, but i'm not a fan of these lenovo ideapad. i have one, the build quality is pretty budget and plastic-y. you could probably just get a used thinkpad off ebay for under $200 and it'll work fine as a school laptop. it'll definitely be better than any $200 chromebook and build like a tank.

or you could wait until black friday. we still don't know what will be available yet.
