Are any Fitbit products even worth it anymore without the stupid paid premium subscription?

I've been a Fitbit user for last 5 years but seriously thinking about jumping ship to Garmin.

Thoughts?

Looks like best buy, dicks, etc all have the same price. Nice deal.

My 10 year old wants one. He doesn't need all the health monitoring. I wish they would knock $100 off the versa instead.

If it's available at Dick's for the same price, then you can use AfterPay there.

The health monitor is actually pretty neat. I had a hell of a fever after the 2nd dose of the Covid vaccine and the Sense actually warned me that my heartrate was going too fast while I was stationary. Doctor said that was normal as part of a fever and just to keep an eye on the temperatures.

--edit--
And it might be neat for a little kid to learn about health in general while young. You get metrics on your body. And if you have their weight scale, it'll tie into their Fitbit account and they get that too.

have they had sufficient updates to the software on these to fix the issues? Reviews at launch were not good, the first thing that was an issue was the touch sensitive button, the rest were slow/non-reactive software and a few other software bugs, I'm fine with the paywall to certain features people were complaining about, but the inherent issues that popped up in those early reviews were a big red flag for me.

I sincerely doubt it. 2 pack is probably referring to the wrist bands (S and L). The amazon page says $199/count so be prepared to return if you are expecting two

Of course the kid wants one. Fitbit devices are just the modern equivalent of a Tamagotchi, except the creature you are monitoring and trying to keep alive is YOU!

Oh, and just a heads-up if you are looking at one of these and want it for the contact-less payment feature. There are many banks (including Citi) that Fitbit does not support for payments using your device.

People have been asking them to add Citi support since the first Versa. It isn't happening!

I'm pretty sure that's a typo. I'm ordering anyways for kicks to see if there will be 2. A dusty broad stole my fitbit versa at the gym smh. I feel naked without it!

Yes, I see the "2-pack" label on the listing, but am very sure that is a typo. Carbon/Black one is for the same price, and does not show as a 2-pack:
