FYI - no Dolby Vision capability.
Is Dolby Vision that expensive to license? Or is it more of a hardware issue (or both)? I'm waiting it out to find one for $150 that includes DV support but kinda doubting it will happen for a while :/

I bought this last year at $140. It was always under $150. Is it just inflation, lack of supply, that is making these (this) deal good?

I have this and the hdr optimizer is amazing.. yes.. no Dolby vision, but I have a Samsung tv so Dolby vision doesn't do anything for me.. eventually when I get an OLED, I'll sell it and get the next model up.

I needed a new player and I don't need Dolby Vision. Thanks OP!

This shouldn't be a deal breaker. Video capabilities of this player exceed most that have DV. I use it with my LG OLED and the picture blows away anything streamed in 4K.
The Sony X700 has Dolby Vision for the same price... Is this one better?...

Why are all of these comments sleeping on Panasonic's tone mapping? Everyone is so hot for Dolby Vision, I figured they'd be hot for even moar tone mapping proprietary solutions.

I'm not bragging. It wasn't a slickdeal. It was the price it was. It was actually a genuine question.

To follow up-meaning it was under $150 for months last year, as I tracked the price. So the genuine question, is that now something that was $145 for months last year is now a deal at $150 because of lack of supply or inflation?

If having DV is important to you go with Sony. With everything else disc wise this is better.
Keep in mind you will have to manually turn on DV with the Sony when the disc has it.

I have Oppo103D which is ageing and became slow to respond to input commands. Is this player a good replacement? I am using AV7706 as a preamp currently.

I have this question too. Thinking ahead and wondering if it's inflation or supply chain issues, or what...
