Costco will have Cricut Maker Bundle for $239.99 from Nov.26. Is that better deal?
Yess it comes with extra materials and you can buy it now and get a price adjustment as it's now within 30 days of the Nov 26 price

Looking into a cricut since my family and I are pretty big DIY-ers (I would use it more for cosplay projects), but for anyone familiar would the maker 3 be worth the $150 jump in price? I see it can work with smart vinyl/fabric without a mat, but would that be needed? Also I've had a couple people tell me to get the Silhouette over the Cricut Maker due to what the machine can do and the bs proprietary software cricut uses/needs. Any comment on that?

Yeah, but price adjustment last are a pair in the arse unless you can go during a slow time. The last time I needed one it took me almost 30mins. I'm not rich, but that's a lot of waiting

Glad to see you've been doing research and talking to people.

It really depends, if you're paying a price point that brings you into Silhouette territory then I do feel you should seriously consider Silhouette. I'm having trouble doing a comparison with Maker 3 and Cameo 4 but I know previously Cameo 4 was significantly more powerful than the Maker allowing more crafting options.

Cricut is more user friendly but has users locked in to their whims (software, practices), Silhouette there is more of a learning curve but offers more freedom once get through that.

Personally when it's time for me to look into a new cutter, or Cricut decides to brick my Air 2 whichever comes first, I won't be looking at Cricut.

Thanks for the info. I'm in it for the user friendly experience but depending on how things goes, I'll branch out into more open source hardware, If any.

Great price! I got this for my wife 2 years ago at full price. I think she's used it... twice? But I've used it a few times, good quality machine.

I will always downvote these because of how scummy this company is.
If you're dead set on buying one, buy a used one so the company gets zero dollars extra profits.

For those that don't know, the company tried charging money when they said they wouldn't. The only reason they aren't charging is because of the immense backlash. However, you know it's only a matter of time until they do it again.

It is part of the holiday savings. They don't price adjust that.

How many gens behind is this one? Any major advantages with the latest gen?
It doesn't support smart vinyl (no mat, long lengths). And the newest one is faster.

We went with the newest explorer 3 instead of the maker as my wife didn't plan on doing leather or wood cuts.

We do pay the Access Subscription (95/year). The software is great (iPad, iOS, laptop) and my wife uses the projects, fonts, and images. She makes stuff all the time so we get our value out of it.

And yes, they reversed their planned upload limits. https://inspiration.cricut.com/a-...NJ4V2UASWc. Even if they didn't reverse the decision, I would understand why they would want to try to monetize it—it's a solid app and it allows you to work across devices.

Just a friendly reminder that Circut wanted to make using the machine a subscription service.

Looking at a price tracking site, it's been this price on Amazon pretty much since September 1st. Why the sudden interest?
