there is a market for sound bar, which IMHO, also kinda defeats the purpose. Nevertheless, there is a wife factor there.

I have 2 of these, used them with my Sonos system by connecting them to my symfonisks that I have as rear surrounds for my Beam gen 2.

They look really clean and got a great bass response without having to pay 800 for the Sonos sub. Decent Subs with a good aesthetic are hard to find at this price.

Good price for this - I have one and love it for a very specific placement under a desk where a standard cube would not fit. Punchy and fairly loud, great complement to small desktop speakers that lack bass.

I don't see a crossover to add additional speakers for higher frequencies, but looks like a great deal for a hideaway sub.

Funny that you brought up sound bars because I was going to comment in my original post about soundbars .

I find it ironic that new TVs have become so slim they require soundbars because a loud speaker needs a certain size enclosure to work properly....but now some soundbars are "Ultra-slim & low-profile ???!!! [amazon.com]

It looks like this only accepts rca input, so unless your amp has an rca out that works while still powering your speakers, I don't think this is for you.

The 808 does not need an amp to work they are connected to the wall, you just need to send Low Frequency audio to them (LFE) via the RCA port. I used the symfonisks Hack from a YouTube video to connect them to my Sonos system.
