Was gonna sign up until saw this:

"Acknowledge that AMC Stubs A-List is a membership with monthly autopayment that has an initial non-cancelable term of three billing periods. I understand I may cancel online after the initial commitment period"
FYI:
10/15 Halloween Kills (Peacock)
10/15 The Last Duel
10/22 The French Dispatch
10/22 Dune (HBO)
10/22 The Harder They Fall
10/29 Last Night in Soho
10/29 Antlers

11/5 Eternals
11/5 Finch (Apple TV+)
11/12 Red Notice (Netflix)
11/12 Belfast
11/12 Ghostbusters Afterlife
11/19 Tick Tick Boom (Netflix)
12/19 C'mon C'mon
11/24 Encanto
11/24 House of Gucci
11/24 The Humans
12/10 West Side Story
12/17 Spider-Man: No Way Home
12/22 The King's Man
12/22 Matrix 4 (HBO)
12/22 Sherlock Holmes
12/24 Don't Look Up (Netflix)
In HCOL areas a single IMAX/Dolby Cinema ticket can be over $25. Just going once a month makes it worth it.

So the total cost is: $72.95 (71.95+1). You need to do at least 10 times in 90 days.
I don't understand the math. Need to do 3 months, first month is a buck, the other two are 23. So 47 plus tax. What am I missing?

To see what honestly? There's nothing worth seeing in 2021. Maybe the Matrix in Dec. But that's it. This is a colossal waste of $.

And AMC changed the size of their large popcorn to 50% of what it was previously, and it costs over $10. It's a joke. 2 sodas cost $15. It's the furthest thing from a slick deal.

This company is beyond bankrupt. I'd short the stock with every penny I had if I could actually find it to short.
So short it. Then post the pic at market open or stfu and stop thread crapping. Hedgie 🤣🍋💦

You can still use a Virtual Credit Card service such as those offered by Privacy.com, Citi or CapitalOne to force them to stick to the correct deal
Do you know if we can cancel the virtual card immediately after the purchase is completed so they cannot charge for the second month?

I have a capital one account so can generate a virtual credit card with their service but not sure if I can go ahead and use one month service from Amc using this deal. This is what it says - "If you are subscribing for something and you are sure that it will be a long-term service, paying with your VCC may not be a good idea. You should pay close attention to expiration dates because the service will be terminated if your Capital One VCC expires, and the provider uses that data to renew your subscription."

I go on Tuesdays with my wife or a friend and buy their IMAX ticket through my account for $10. I get points and my buddy gets a cheaper ticket.
I do something similar. I go to movies by myself sometimes. Once I get enough credits from Fandango I take my son(s) or wife to a showing w/ me. I make sure to use my 3 movies each week, to at least earn the points (on Fandango). So free movie for me and a cheap ticket for someone that goes w/ me.

Last Night in Soho was a pretty good movie. That was my most recent movie.

You do know there's more movies than blockbusters right? 🙄

I'd probably travel 18 miles to the nearest theater that has Dolby and IMAX and do a triple-feature if I had this membership. Not a bad idea either to split it up with food from a restaurant in between.

This sounds more idyllic like I'd hope to go at least one a month if not weekly and probably end up using the membership once or twice throughout the year honestly.

The fine print clearly stipulates that this deal includes the first month for $.99 and that subscribers are committing to a membership for at least three months.

Interesting, I didn't ever think to earn Fandango points on those. I'll have to start doing that.

I have been wanting to check that one out. I saw Dune twice and will probably use a couple more tickets on it.

I used the deal to get two new first month discounted subscriptions - one for wife and another for myself. Used virtual card from Capital One and set auto lock for Nov 30th. The next billing cycle is Dec 2nd, so I hope that AMC won't be able to charge further and cancel my membership as a result once this billing cycle ends. Thanks to OP and guys who suggested virtual card option.

I signed up for $5 without noticing the 3 month commitment. Doesn't seem to be any way to wiggle out of it. Luckily there's a decent amount of movies for me to watch through December.

Book through fandango.com to earn $5 fandango/Vudu credit every 4th movie booking. Feel free to book movies even if you aren't going to watch for this purpose.
