I got this monitor for about the same price a few months ago. Only complaint is the ghosting is pretty bad for dark games. So much blur. I switch to the FPS mode which brings up the contrast a bunch so it's not so bad, then I go back to Game for desktop use as the colors are better there.

if you care so little about sound quality that you're okay with built in speakers, you can also literally stick some $10 speakers on the back of the monitor and achieve the same level of space w/ the same level of shite sound quality.

Yeah, it's been a while since we've seen any deals on 34" or 35" monitors, and the Monoprice monitors used to show up often. Hopefully we'll see some better deals on Black Friday.

Just buy a shitty pair of speakers and mount them behind the monitor. It'd be like $20 or less. Or even consider a single central bar style speaker.

In reality, a decent set of speakers don't take up that much space..
