Thats a load of crock, I had plenty of people tell me their Dyson vacuums burned out after 3-6months and needed them swapped.

I know a few girls who had that super expensive hair dryer and they came DOA BNIB, even a replacement came DOA...

So if your associating the higher price with a better built product, nope!

The only thing I will say is that their support will be way better than any China brand but I am not willing to pay over DOUBLE for that little benefit, and get a inferior product in return.

Before I go to the cheaper alternatives if your willing to spend around $250 when on sale the Shark IZ462H (normal price around $300-330) can usually be found at Kohls and competes at the $500+ price range of the V11/V11 oversized. The roller head while not intelligent in anyway is extremely efficient and if you have pets or long hair is one of the best when it comes to no tangles. Its also one of the few vacuums that cleans just as well on low power as it does on high, which means you can easily clean a whole house on one charge. It does not come with a stand or mount only real criticism and if you get a older older model there were cases of it causing static shock at the handle while using it. My original model had that problem it was replaced in under 4 days from Shark when I actually got annoyed enough to report it.

I got my Shark after trying multiple brands including name brands and its been one of the best purchases yet. Out the door after coupon code and Khols cash I actually paid like $180 for it I believe. My friends who have V8 and V10 say it works way better than their Dysons.

https://www.kohls.com/product/prd...iz462h.jsp

Now some cheaper alternatives that I have personally used, if your on the biggest budget ever I mean like under $100. The ORFELD is a decent option.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0857GN...slink=true

The other budget friendly option which I actually got one for myself and one for my mom and a few people picked up for their day to day is the Moosoo K17, I no longer see it sold on Amazon, but its still carried at Walmart. The vacuum currently has lasted almost 2 years without any issues and it does a great day to day job.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Moosoo.../513929255

Then if your looking to spend around $200 the Simplicity S65 is better than the V7 and in most cases the V8 (V8 was known to have weaker suction than a V7). The Simplicity when it first launched was way more expensive but it was priced reduced and at this price point is a great pick up if you cant wait for a Shark! This also has a TON of attachments.

https://www.amazon.com/Lightweigh...C80&sr=8-3

This one I have not tried or could find any reviews on, but it peeks my interest a lot cause of the advertised suction power 27000Kpa being one of the highest out there. Since it has HEPA and all that other good stuff it looks like it might be the top contender for this price range, but again since I have not seen anything on it I cant recommend. I know the brand name has been around for at least 2 years now. This is one of those long shots that may pay out big or just suck and need to be returned.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JJQM...ljaz10cnVl

Hope that helps some of you guys, and would love to hear feedback if you pick any of the alternatives up.

Update

Adding the Tineco A11 pwrHero since its currently on a great sale, its mechanics are identical to the standard A11 but this is the walmart only version with different accessories:

The origin version is the most basic of all of the versions, and honestly I didnt think it was sold in the US as I thought it was only sold in Australia originally. Only difference is the additional tools, so the extra would have the more tools. The motor and battery all the same through out all the versions.

That being said this V8 compared to other brands that are more than half off the price provide the same performance or better so this is not a great deal. So unless you are a big Dyson person this is way over priced for what its worth when a $125+ China brand vacuums can do the same thing just as well if not better.

This is the most concise and unbiased comparison between V8 motorhead vs animal vs absolute that I've found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J...Glu8&t=19s

This is a good deal but the Motorhead has some drawback on hard floors. Will rather wait for a deal on the absolute which comes with 2 specialized accessories for carpet and hard floors.

I saw Sam's club is doing the same but it's the "extra" version and this is this "origin" version. Does anyone know the difference?

I have an absolute, loved it. Or at least the hardwood attachment. Its seems to be on the fritz though and won't hold a charge.

I believe the attachment will work with this motorhead, correct?

Anybody had luck getting these things fixed off warrenty? I think i just need a new battery but they make it difficult.

Regarding the battery, mine failed way earlier then my daughter's identical unit because I always had charging on the wall hanger. She would only charge hers when it was dead. I guess this makes a huge difference.

I was able to buy an off brand replacement on ebay for about $30 which has been performing wonderfully now that I just let it go dead before recharging.

Love the Dyson.

I have this. It's great when you first use it, but after awhile the battery get worst and worst. You would be lucky to get 1 minute of vacuuming before it dies.

Is this overkill for just wanting something easy to grab to sweep the hardwood steps? The Kirby does most of the heavy lifting.

Or should I go with something like the Tineco PWRHEROâ„¢ 11 for half the price? I should probably check to see if replacement batteries are readily available for the Tineco.

I bought a battery off of Amazon and replaced it myself. Easy to do!

Thanks for the info. I'm just looking for a stick like this that works on hard floors. Only have one rug and no carpet and my full size vac bit the dust.
With other comments about the battery I wonder if it's better to just get a plug in version like the shark rocket that was one sale.

If you've spent any amount of time on the VacuumCleaners subreddit, you'll find out that Dyson is one of the least reliable vacuum brands.
