I just canceled my UN9070 order from Costco for this model.

After some research, the differences are:
- UP8770 has a7 Gen4 processor vs Gen3 on UN9070
- UP is 2021 line and UN is 2020 line
- UP8770 has TruMotion 240 and UN9070 does not
- UP8770 has thinner borders and overall width
- UP8770 has lower weight

I think the number of HDMI 2.1 ports are the same between these two. Costco's website has some errors. The differences are definitely worth ~$60 additional cost to me.

It really depends on your budget and how much you value improvements in picture quality.

I was convinced I wanted a QLED or OLED until I watched videos and saw the TVs in person. Then I realized that I just love a big screen. I find it terrific for sports, gaming immersion, and movies. But that's me.

Most of us going for TVs like this can't tell much of a difference between TVs like this one and better TVs or we don't care enough to shell out for the better ones. But we care enough about size to spend the extra for this size - we could get a 75" for far less with a better picture.

The Sony is better and more expensive. Do you want features such as FALD in an 85" TV? Then Sony is the way to go and probably worth the extra $550 or more. If you barely notice the difference between these TVs or don't find the difference significant enough (as I do) then the LG is a much better value.

Quick question for the folks that know more on this,
is the 86NANO85APA.AUS a good tv vs this one?
https://www.costco.com/lg-86%22-c...61657.html [costco.com]

it is 600 dollars but it is it worth that 600?
While that's better it's not a highly rated TV. If you're going up in budget that much you may as well go for a TV with good review such as the Sony X91J which will cost about $700 more when it goes on sale, iirc.

Not to say that the Rtings review for the aforementioned NANO85 2021 will be any different, but your attached review is for the NANO85 2020. Rtings has yet to review the NANO85 2021, and it's still pretty far down on their review list.

setup for $19 only.. will it include putting it on the wall (I already have wall bracket) anyone done this before ?

Nevermind answering myself.. this does not include wall mounting just open and connect the base... so not required..

I think this TV LG 86" UP8770 has not been reviewed by RTings. The refresh rate is not correct on this review above

One thing to note is that the 8770 is edge lit while the 9070 is direct lit. Weight difference is about 7 pounds heavier on the 9070. I think I will stick with my 9070.

This UP8770 has a stand width of 60.3 inches.
The UN9070 has a stand width of 70.2 inches.

I looked into this because my TV stand is 65 inches.

I placed an order to be delivered on Nov. 27th.
If another deal comes along until that time, I will just cancel this order and the "problem" is solved.
It sure is a good problem to have.

Umm.. no.

8770 is direct lit as well...

Not sure why the weight matters, but the 9070 is a couple pounds lighter, not heavier...

IKEA has a couple of TV stands that can fit.

$209 https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/best...s19328413/

$99 https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/best...-70474062/

There are some other options too.

I'm thinking about mounting the TV, but I don't want to have ugly dangling wires, so I guess I would have to get an electrician to do the wiring inside the wall -right? Not really crazy about that idea. Seems like a lot of hassle. Also, I had some bad experiences with home remodeling work, so I'm afraid of doing even the slightest work.

Which is why I'll likely end up with a TV stand.

They sell in wall wire kits on Amazon for about 60 bucks. Doesn't really require any actual electrical work since it just uses a power cable plugged in to a nearby outlet. Fairly straightforward if u are ok with some minor drywall work.
