was thinking of using one of these as a mattress itself but it looks like it's designed to be soft. any experiences?

Cheaper in the past, unless you wanna consider "supply shortage" up charge. Search shows previous deals at much cheaper price.

Cannot use this as a mattress. You sink into the foam. Also the price isn't too great. I paid $69.29 for a 3" queen in June.

Get latex and you won't be sorry. Better support and doesn't retain heat like foam.

You can if you have it on the floor, but if you're planning on putting this somewhere soft then you'll sink a lot.

Might you work for Vandelay Industries? ...and you wanted to be my latex salesman...

I bought a 3" queen Lucid ventilated gel memory foam on Amazon back in February for about $94. It was comfortable and had a cooling effect for about 4 months. It's now not much more comfortable than the cheap non-memory foam mattresses they sell for $20-$30 at Big Lots. I'd find something better when it goes on sale. This Tempur pedicure queen is $254 on QVC with the $15 off 1st order coupon:

I used to work for a non-profit that helped the homeless. If you really can't afford one, you can call around either to local non profits that do the same sort of thing or even mattress stores asking for donations. I wish I had a bunch of $$ and could afford to buy you one. Good luck!

Regular price is jacked WAAAAY up. All the other Lucid toppers are about $20 more than this fake "on sale" item. What a joke.

For me this one definitely did. Also, sank in quite a bit so just tossed it after a month.

You're wallet might be sorry, unless you can point us to some latex options that don't cost 2-3x these memory foam toppers.

I've also seen many offered for free on Craigslist and FB marketplace. Somebody was happy to take a couple of twin Select Comfort sets I inherited and had no use for.

You do you latex is also foam right...?

And while it sleeps cooler, that's 90% because it's much firmer. It's really not much cooler of a material. Still highly insulating.
