There is a private grey seller that will unlock samsung devices for $65. Too steep for something like this.
There are also no custom roms for this variant either, only the SM-A51_ models.

How will the eventual shutdown of all the 3G networks affect this phone? Can it do VoLTE? Is there another way it works for calls?
Second, when I go to the tfwunlockpolicy site it tells me the device isn't eligible for the unlocking program. I was expecting to see a counter or something, rather than a flat out rejection. Is that normal or did something go wrong with my activation?

It has been about 2 weeks that TF Rewards system is not giving points, adding a line or referrals. Pending points (referring a friend in September) disappeared after 60 days as well. Contacting TF gets no solution.
TF does not give you a counter. It will ask for your phone # (detecting the IMEI is associated with an active # on TF) and email, when it's eligible for unlock. It gave me two codes to unlock my Moto G6. Before it was on TF for 12 months, the website simply said it wasn't eligible for unlock.

I tried about a week or so ago. Never got my 8000pts. Used the App.

Edit: should say during 11/1-11/15, the system failed to give reward points for new sign-ups. The points I 'earned' by referring others 9/1-9/15 vanished after 60 days...
This exact thing happened to me last week. Added the code in the app, but it errored out, and then said the account had been already referred. Based in the terrible customer service others have received, I just moved on. Added the second phone to the account and got the 7000pts.
Don't care much about the points as I will only be using them to extend the plans on both phones by a month so I can get the phones unlocked next year. I know I can do that on the last day of year 1, but will add a month using the points just to be safe.
For now I am really enjoying the phone as my secondary device. Around the house, I use it more than my main phone (Note 10+). It is an incredible phone for the $54 I paid for it (and the 1yr plan).

I'm brand new to TracFone and just received/activated this device and then used a referral code in the app after activation. The code gave me 8000 points, but it is pending.
So you're saying that I will lose these points after 60 days and nothing can be done about it?

a quick search on their web, no... https://wiki.lineageos.
oh, found a unofficial one on XDA
finally, looks like S515DL has a unlockable bootloader... dead end!
I had to apply to unlock my Poco and wait a full week (168 hours) to unlock my bootloader.

It is a decent phone overall.
Anyone else try this yet?
