This is confusing. So I can trade-in a Nexus 7 tablet and get the $350 credit applied?

Edit: Prepare for tears, y'all. This is going to be a mess.

Friendly advice: If you're interested in any of these tablets…just go buy them outright without the hoops & games. Samsung either has so much customer volume that they don't care about the complaints or they just flat-out don't care about their individual customers. Based on the many deals prior this year: a small percentage may score this, but there are a lot of variables working against you (1.They Cancel your initial order / 2. cancel your trade-in from a litany of arbitrary reasons and bill you the $350 TIV / 3. make you wait over the tight 2-week return window to verify/appraise your trade-in…just to name a few) and their call centres are HORRENDOUSLY DIFFICULT and time-intensive to deal with when there are issues. People have even had their money in limbo for weeks to months (without using CC chargeback) in hopes of getting their orders fulfilled amidst weeks of shipping delay after delay after delay…

Recommendation for trade ins, I have never had an issue with them but they will be mostly incentivized to try to deny them all. Record EVERYTHING, IMEI numbers, take LOTS of pictures of the conditions, take video of the device properly working. Document as much as you can before you send it in even if it gets to that point and orders aren't cancelled. It will make it much easier to have evidence if they try to argue anything otherwise.

That's how tax works, at least in most states, because technically a discount is not part of a product's retail price. Just because you're getting a $350 discount does not change the cost of the product, it only changes what your final charge will be.
