What other times has a large, global company like Samsung changed the terms of a sale and screwed everyone by overcharging them the difference?
Not necessarily overcharging, but cancelling or reneging on the terms was what I meant. The best example I can think of was the Buy.com Hitachi monitor fiasco circa 1997. Buy.com listed a $650 monitor for ~$165. They took many thousands of orders but shipped only around 1600 of them, which was the entire inventory in the US. They cancelled all the other orders. There was a successful class action lawsuit and most people got around $43.xx each after attorneys fees.

This led to many retailers putting disclaimers on their printed and ecommerce ads which gave them the ability to cancel orders in the event of price mistakes. In the early days of web commerce, price mistakes are much more common than they are now because they put in safeguards, but the legalese is probably still in the T&Cs of every sale.

I don't remember exactly, but I think Buy.com eventually morphed into what we now know as rak***n, with several other corporate owners along the way.

The cpu we're getting in the wifi s7 fe is more powerful than the 750G that comes in the 5G
version from your link.. It's the new 778G that's just 19% slower than my s7 865+. The 778G is almost double in Multi-Core vs the 750G.
Wow. I heard the WiFi FE was faster, but I didn't realize how much. It's a considerable difference.

Still slower than the S7, but it's certainly no slouch. Battery life is better than the S7's 865 SOC

I got the FE because the S7 was out of stock. What is the benefit of the BT S-pen? Can it be purchased separately and added to the FE?
Thanks.
I'm not sure if the Bluetooth spen features would work on the FE, also you'll need to wirelessly charge it to get all the benefits and I'm not sure if a regular wireless charger even charges it. In short the Bluetooth features are things like waving the pen to pause/play song/videos/take pictures, I honestly think those features aren't a big deal so you won't be missing much.

I've tested FE and the regular S7 at the store and the S7 is much, much smoother and faster, not just from CPU power but because of the 120Hz screen. But yes, the Wifi FE has faster CPU than 5G.

For my use case (ebooks, web-surfing, movies), I don't think I'd notice the difference.

I've been using my old LG tablet (mid-range in 2016), and it's been quite sufficient. Of course my needs are minimal and prior to this deal, I was about to settle for the $29 Onn 8" tablet from Walmart. I might still do that since I already have a desktop and laptop available to me 24/7. The tablet is just a convenience appliance if I want to lay on a couch.

I called Samsung to ask if my Asus C100 2-in-1 chromebook was eligible. He said if it wasn't eligible, he'd give me the $350 trade in value anyways. On the trade in screen there are no specific models of Asus tablets to trade in.
I would be skeptical of anything that a CSR says in a chat, but it may be helpful to cite that conversation if it becomes necessary. Hope you saved the chat log.

Thanks. Yeah, those aren't really must-have features.

Good point, for your use case it's more than sufficient, however since the diff in price was only $70 more for S7 (128gb vs 64gb on FE), I would personally get the S7 even if I don't need the power right now as it'll hold much higher resale or trade in value and longevity, but again if you know you won't need the extra performance and will use it till it dies then FE is a great tablet.

It was a phone call so no chat log, but got their direct email to assist me. I got 2 and will keep this one sealed until I get the trade in value.

For those wondering:

• When I ship back to Samsung the device I'm trading in, should I send the charger, case, or other accessories with the device?

No – you should ship only the device to Samsung, and if you no longer need them, discard the other accessories following your local trash and recycling regulations. Trade-in value is available only for the device. If you do ship accessories back with the device, we will not return those accessories.

Either should be fine. It says "Asus" on the tablet, but it is also a Google tablet. If they accept it, they should accept under either, but if they were hell bent on denying the trade-in, they could deny it in either case. If you picked "Asus", they could say it is a Google Nexus 7 tablet, and if you picked Google, they could say "sorry, it clearly says Asus here".

I picked Google as the Nexus series of tablets are clearly Google tablets, just as the Nexus series of phones are Google phones, but who knows what will happen at the trade-in center.
I have also chose google to send in my nexus 10, checked with CS and they confirmed it as google tablet lets see what happens.

For people with multiple orders and a few on hold:

Just chatted with 3 separate CRs and they all said when the trade-in device is received at the facility, the next order will be released. So we just have to wait until FedEx drops it off, not when the facility finishes the trade-in evaluation.

Don't they need the charger if there's no power upon inspection.
