Note that most of the savings from the Black Friday package comes from their inclusion of an Amazon Echo Show, a tablet with a speaker that is pretty much irrelevant to home security.

I only clicked because I thought it said "Adobe" and was wondering when they got into security. Crying2

Agreed. I went for the regular smart security kit then added the actual accessories I wanted. Been waiting for this sale and it's cheaper than the 15% discount they had last month. Also got the professional monitoring for 1 year (discounted at $100 for the first year). They advertise it's supposed to make your homeowner's insurance cheaper so I'll be testing out if that's true. Regardless, it's the best security system to integrate into a smart home and I needed a system because there have been multiple break-ins in the neighborhoods around me.

I used them when they were a thing, a few years back. Their sensors are always expensive and I had a lot of issues with their iOS app. Their customer service is rude and I am not the only one who had issues with their system. Google them and their issues. Reddit has many posts about their terrible customer service.

I switched to Ring security and haven't looked back. I mean $100/ year for security monitoring is pretty good compared to $240/yr for Abode.

Ring also offers retrofit system, in case your house is prewired. You get a lot more with 100/yr with ring than abode.

You can add ring doorbell, cameras and security monitoring to their protect plan for just a $100/yr

I have been on ring since 2018 I would say.

I was thinking about switching to Ring mainly for better customer service. But I think your pricing is wrong. To fairly compare with Abode security monitoring with Ring, it should be Ring Pro at $200/year. For $100/year, you get Ring plus which comes with no pro monitoring and cellular backup. Is this right?

EDIT: I found this article: https://www.techhive.com/article/...nsive.html

It appears the existing Ring Plus customer can continue pro monitoring at $10/month till Jan 2025. Those who plan to sign up like me will be $20/m ($200/year).
