Afternoon,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a new home owner looking to buy some new tools for a bunch of projects I have listed in my mind. I'm looking for a set a tools and I think this is exactly what I need. I've done some research I think Milwaukee is what I'm shooting for. I want tools that are quality and will last a long time. I really want brushless but that adds to the price tag quite a bit so I will probably settle for brushed. I won't use these for any commercial projects or anything more than small stuff around the house. This a good deal or should I continue to poke around for something else?

this might not be the answer you are looking for, but for a homeowner, i really think milwaukee is overkill. i built an entire house... well, entire cabin, with ryobi tools. and they are still going strong 5 years later after countless projects around the house, countless projects my friends need help with, including building a 2000 sf house from the ground up. and i dont treat them well.

im not trying to discourage you from milwaukee, but do know that ryobi will outlast almost every home-user of tools. its more likely that a tool will come along that you will want to upgrade to for the better features, like brushless, lightweight, more torque, etc... than the tool will wear out.

im on job sites a lot and even some pro's are starting to use ryobi. dont get me wrong... if you want the best, go dewalt or milwaukee... but do know that its likely overkill.

Yep! This, and add a Ryobi impact when a good deal comes along. The Milwaukee blower included in your posted set will likely be disappointing if you are looking for a real leaf blower. FWIW, this is coming from a guy with $2K invested in Milwaukee/Dewalt, that's how good I also think the Ryobi line is for 85% of homeowners.

that's a good point for OP... i didnt even notice the blower mixed in. blowers are on the top of the list of things that dont work well with batteries. even the huge backpack ones that use numerous 40v batteries dont cut it for leaf cleanup.

Update (YMMV):

I was offered $13.27 in Honey Gold pop-up points and paying with PP would earn the Chase quarterly 5% CB ($10.55), I could literally net $187 all in with taxes, if you happen to have a HD CC, perhaps you then might have one of their regular CC offers for 10% (in lieu of PP) to take off another 5% (net, $177).

Yes the stars have to align a bit, but if the OP is still here and considering, and eligible for the discounts, $177 or $187 would be a steal for this set: And I realize this is probably a dead post, but hey, maybe helps a fellow SD member.
