They're not energy bars in the same way as like a monster or Red Bull. They're meant for hikers and other strenuous outdoor activities where you need that shot of sugar and calories.

As some have already stated, these are great for when you're about to do a strenuous activity. I eat 1 of these in the mornings before I head to the gym doing high intensity cardio. I generally burn around 600-700 calories, so these things are absolutely perfect for giving me the energy I need to push through.

Agree with everyone here, these are not good for weight loss or even regular snacking. They contain way too much sugar (basically nearly as much as is recommended as a maximum for a whole day for most adults). They are pretty good when you are talking about upcoming intense physical activity where you need the instant carbohydrate energy available and are limited on time.
