Mine saved my life literally! Was hiking/snowshoeing by Aspen a few years ago & a large buck was startled & ran. He ended up triggering an avalanche & I was thrown down the mountain & buried. Because I had the watch & still had signal through my phone on my bk (idk HOW that was possible but am thankful!) my watch was able to do the incident detection & between the light & the navigation I was able to slowly wiggle out. I was upside dwn & didn't know Which way was up at 1st. Was rescued an hour later w/a dislocated knee, a broken leg & a concussion. So there was little chance I wld have made it bk dwn on my own. Now I don't go ANYWHERE w/o it!
Because some people like wearing watches.
To say this is a watch is like saying your phone is a clock. This is much more than just a watch. Take a look at what it does and you'll see that many who are active runners, hikers, cyclists, etc. track their progress through these wrist computers with built in GPS, barometric altimeters, heartbeats monitors, etc.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the 6x from Kohls. Figure I can get $150+ for the F245 Music, $120 Kohls Cash, etc. Enough to make me pull the trigger.

Haha! I was just on Kohl's when your notification came in. I'm about to do the same after I talked myself out of buying it last night!

Haha nice. I splurged for the sapphire, not sure if I'll regret that. Def doesn't seem worth $100, but plan on having this watch a long time so amortizing the $100 over the lifespan!

I'm still having trouble figuring out why people carry watches now. They all have cellphone with dead accurate time. I haven't carried a watch for nearly 50 years. Had pagers and then cell phones with accurate time, watch is redundant.
Check your watch while hiking, bush whacking, river crossing, rock scrambling …try to do that with your phone

What don't? It says $80 Kohl's cash + $33 back on card for 6X Pro purchase for me.

I can burn $60 in current Kohl's cash on this and roll over.
I was planning to buy from Target w/ Redcard 5% discount. Kohl's clothes rarely fit me so Kohl's cash is not appealing for me.

I'm debating between fenix 6s sapphire edition vs 6x pro solar edition...Wave

It would be a win/win for both the poster and Garmin.

I have been using Samsung Galaxy watches for many years with the SIM card currently on Galaxy Watch 4. I am looking for a change now.

Any Garmin recommendations, I would prefer one with SIM card?

Thanks!

What are you looking for in a watch? If it's to check messages, notifications, and for just the ability to not have to pull out your phone, you're better off with Galaxy watch honestly. Garmin would be for those who are fitness oriented or want to become more fitness focused.
As soon as I got my Garmin Fenix 3hr I definitely got more into my fitness. Bought a Garmin Fenix for wife and daughter and they just wanted an Apple Watch bc they weren't into working out aside from casual jog.

I am looking for regular fitness stuff but also at times I don't carry my phone around and able to deal with phone calls and texts with the LTE watch.

The fact that lte is a preference tells me you'd probably be better off with Samsung or Apple, whichever ecosystem you're in. Dealing with texts/calls will obviously be better on those watches.
Garmin would also be for those who don't want to charge their watch every night.
I'm thinking maybe a Venu or Vivoactive for you, if you're used to a touchscreen

Typically longer warranties can be worth it, but garmin customer service is some of the best. After having nothing but problems with a buy dig purchased 405, they took care of me with a replacement at no cost. I've kept my garmin purchases to In store only since, and experienced zero issues.

my long dashcam cable frayed and broke for no reason. garmin wanted to charge me $15 for $5 on ebay cable. i declined and let garmin know what i think of the brand. garmin sent me a replacement cable for free. a short one. lol i already had one short in the box that came with the cam so i asked for a long one. garmin had plenty of regular long cables but decided to send me one with the plug which takes up the whole socket. useless customer service. i switched to a different brand dash cam.

The Kohls Cash incentive jumps from $10 per $50 spent to $15 per $50 spent on Nov 21st. Does anyone know if the Garmin sales will be around until the 21st? I'm looking at grabbing the Fenix 6S Pro for $450 with $135 Kohls Cash + $22.50 in Rewards for a net of $292.50. Not bad at all.

I ended up buying the Fenix 6S Pro today with the idea that if the watch is still on sale on the 21st, I'll return and reorder with eh $15 Kohls cash per $50 spent. It was too good not to lock in.
