Item# 1592085 Energizer AA AAA Rechargeable NiMH Battery Kit w/ Charger @Costco In-Store Only
$22.99+Tax
Price was reduced to $12.99 through 12/10, now back to regular price $22.99
6 x AA 2300mAh
4 x AAA 800mAh
Charge rates on the charger are pretty
HIGH @ 2500mA for AA's, and 1000mA for AAA's. Trickle charge is 50mA for AA's, and 20mA for AAA's. For me these rates are
MUCH TO HIGH
.
I would not use any higher charge rate than half the rating of the cell. HEAT KILLS! I would use ~500mA for the AA's, and ~200mA for the AAA's.
Rapid "1 Hr. Charger," 60mins or less to charge to capacity. Will charge 1-4 cells at a time.

+1 for Eneloop. They are FAR superior to Energizer. Not only do they hold their charge much longer (over 1 year vs several weeks in TV remotes), they are much more durable for recharge cycles. Roughly half of my Energizer batteries died after a few charge cycles on my Powerex charger; zero failures for Eneloop.
The fact that these battery cells were made in Japan may be an indication that these cells are made by the same manufacturing facility as eneloops, and may actually be rebadged eneloops.

This. I have read that there used to be two companies in Japan. Now they have merged to one company. Can anyone confirm with a higher degree of certainty?

If you don't need a charger the Laddas are probably a better value, and smaller quantities.
They currently have a 4-battery charger on sale of $6 or so. Did not see any chargers that charges more than 4 batteries.

The eneloops are definitely preferred, but at a significant increase in cost.
