Item# 1592085 Energizer AA AAA Rechargeable NiMH Battery Kit w/ Charger @Costco In-Store Only $22.99+Tax

Price was reduced to $12.99 through 12/10, now back to regular price $22.99
6 x AA 2300mAh
4 x AAA 800mAh

Charge rates on the charger are pretty HIGH @ 2500mA for AA's, and 1000mA for AAA's. Trickle charge is 50mA for AA's, and 20mA for AAA's. For me these rates are MUCH TO HIGH
.
I would not use any higher charge rate than half the rating of the cell. HEAT KILLS! I would use ~500mA for the AA's, and ~200mA for the AAA's.

Rapid "1 Hr. Charger," 60mins or less to charge to capacity. Will charge 1-4 cells at a time.

+1 for Eneloop. They are FAR superior to Energizer. Not only do they hold their charge much longer (over 1 year vs several weeks in TV remotes), they are much more durable for recharge cycles. Roughly half of my Energizer batteries died after a few charge cycles on my Powerex charger; zero failures for Eneloop.
Can you provide a link to the Energizer product, and site this "review" was acquired? Without knowing what battery you're referencing makes the comparison impossible.

The fact that these battery cells were made in Japan may be an indication that these cells are made by the same manufacturing facility as eneloops, and may actually be rebadged eneloops.

I bought these from Costco last year and honestly I feel like they are as good or better than the Japanese-made IKEA Ladda's. These seem to last longer in our Xbox controllers. It makes me scratch my head since they supposedly don't hold as much charge as the IKEAs.

This. I have read that there used to be two companies in Japan. Now they have merged to one company. Can anyone confirm with a higher degree of certainty?

I have had the same experience and also have a Powerex charger. Some of the Ikea brand rechargeable are very good.

All I know is that it was a a Sanyo built and owned facility. Panasonic attained a majority control n Sanyo. Than the previous Sanyo company was sold to Fujitsu subsidiary FDK but Panasonic is still selling batteries from this facility under its own brand names, and retained control of the eneloop brand name.

Yeah they were clearanced but it was a slightly different looking kit that included a green carrying case and I don't think it's price was related to the holidays.

If Ikea's Ladda batteries are as good if not better. isn't this price pretty close to Ikea's everyday price?

The close to equivalent cells from Ikea would be $17.50, but does not include the charger. So if the charger is worth $5.50, or more to you than this is a better value.

If you don't need a charger the Laddas are probably a better value, and smaller quantities.

Ikea Lada is about $6 for AA, $5.50 for AAA, 4 packs.

They currently have a 4-battery charger on sale of $6 or so. Did not see any chargers that charges more than 4 batteries.

Ikea is $8 for the 2450mAh AA Ladda 4 pack. The 1900mAh 4 pack is indeed $6

The higher AA capacity cells(~2450mAh) tend to have about half the max cycles(~500 vs. ~1000 cycles) of the lower capacity cells(~1900mah). AAA are about a third the max cycles for the lower capacity vs. higher capacity.

The eneloops are definitely preferred, but at a significant increase in cost.
