Not sure you grasp the purpose of Instacart if you're still arguing price versus you going to the physical store yourself.

Someone drives to the physical store for you, goes from aisle to aisle shopping for you, and drives to your house to deliver your groceries. How can you expect to pay exactly the same as you would if you were at the store? Yes, some stores may have the same prices, but you still need to tip and pay a delivery/service/membership fee. This is not about saving every dollar. If you put any value on your time, convenience, and safety, Instacart can save a lot more than the markup you end up paying.

It's like saying "taking a cab is a lot more expensive than driving, or eating at a restaurant is a lot more expensive than cooking at home". Human labor is not cheap.

Offers are targeted, but I've seen 5% cashback from Chase and +5 bonus Membership Rewards per $ spent from AMEX.

It should. Instacart treats gift card redemptions as credits that just subtract from the total. At least, that's how it's worked for me.
