Decent laptop for $639.46 on clearance at Staples stores. Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 15.6" Full HD, backlit keyboard, USB-C and USB 3.2, 57Wh battery, all-metal body

Link for reference only: Lenovo 15ITL05 laptop [staples.com]

For full specs, see Lenovo's web site [lenovo.com]

The laptop is currently priced at $699.46 with a $60 promotional discount, for final price of $639.46. The promotional discount may expire at any time. As always with Staples clearance, YMMV. Last I checked, this laptop was available in some stores.

Staples still has laptop clearance in stores?
I thought they no longer had it or maybe they don't have it when the prices get too low like they did 10 plus years ago.

This is perfect for me, but wait, it's 60% sRGB display. It may not be important to some but was looking for a 15 inches laptop in less than $700 with good display. Bright is fine with 300 nits though.

I'm not sure where you saw 60% sRGB? It is 45% NTSC. NTSC has almost the same gamut (in terms of coverage) as Adobe, and is much wider than sRGB.

Those are good specs. I like Win 10 pro and upgradeable memory, but for $80-$100 more it's a toss up -- it really depends on personal preferences. For example, for me a touch screen on a 15.6" laptop is ridiculous. What is unacceptable, however, is the 4+ months delivery time. That alone makes this a horrible deal.

If your Staples stores have it, you can buy it right there and now (for me that was important, as this was gift for a relative coming for Thanksgiving). If not, plenty of Walmart laptops with slightly worse specs (generally i5/8G/256GB)

45% NTSC usually works out to something like 60% or so sRGB.

The instant discounts shows up after the cashier hits "total" If you just asked what the price was and they looked in their scanner, it will show up as $699.

How does this compare to the XPS that was on the front page yesterday for $639?

Well, it's i5 vs i7 for the Lenovo, 256GB vs 512GB, and 8GB vs 16GB. Definitely lacking in specs. The XPS are nice machines, but I was looking for a 15.6".
