Can't you just reinstall a clean Windows? Oh, the article is 4 years old.

The integrated graphics are better on the i5.

Here is what happened last week. Target had an i3 HP 15 laptop on special for $339.99 - https://www.target.com/p/hp-15-6-34-laptop-with-windows-home-in-s-mode-intel-core-i3-11th-gen-proces... [target.com] . (It is now priced at $429.99 as the deal is over.) Walmart had posted in advance the deal on the i3 (not the one the subject of this thread) that is taking place this week for $279 - https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-15-.../416132914 . The i3 in the Walmart was not the same as the i3 in the Target (i3-1115G4 vs i3-1125G4), still many folks were able to get Target to price match the Walmart model and get $60 back off of the $339.99 price. Others were not successful doing this. In any event, the Target deal is over now.

Not here to discourage buyers. But I'm absolutely in love with the Target one I got last week. I never knew how much I needed finger print scanners for unlocking my pc instantly! Also the Target one has backlight keyboard while the Walmart one does not. Don't forget the i3 is a QUAD core! So if you're deciding your purchase between the two keep this in mind. Enjoy whichever you choose!

Price seems good, hp support sucks when you need it.

They refused to repair, because of shortages, just FYI.

They install all sorts or spyware in system folders under account

Experienced similar exchange with HP. I opened a ticket today to replace a main board and they just close the ticket without even an explanation

Unless you already purchased the Target one, you are out of luck since that deal expired this past weekend.

The only difference with the $340 Target deal is i3-1125G4 vs i5-1135G7, right? And it doesn't seem to be a huge difference in performance?
Isn't the onboard GPU substantially better in i5?

Yes, I guess someone pointed that out as well.

The display isn't an IPS one, it's most likely a TN panel. Here are official specs https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c07905308

Also it doesn't have a backlit keyboard. Screen is a big let down, there is no mention of it being an IPS panel in the above link.

Yes, i5's iris graphics is much better than i3. I would buy Walmart deal over target.

Asked Target for PM and they answered with "What we could do is, you could place an order and I could check if the price match processed. In case it does not process than you could cancel the order". Don't do a purchase without confirming it by support, agent should check that asap and cancel the order if something goes wrong.

And I guess you still can PM Target's i3 too, even though the deal is over.
Can you elaborate please? Which link were you trying to price match, etc? Would like to get that target model for a decent price..

Got the Target one and it is very good. It said it came installed with windows 10, but it came with 11. Normally that wouldn't be a problem except the fact that my version of office from 2013 does not work on 11. One thing after another. Don't really feel like paying annually for MS 365 just for a word processor.. These companies are brilliant at figuring out a way to get you to pay over and over for stuff you used to just buy just once.

I found LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/) to fully replace MS Office/365 for me. Free of charge.
