Interesting, did not know that. I have been waiting for it to go on sale for a few months now so I have the right tools to work on my Audi.

I've been really happy with this set. It has just about everything I need for the wife's Q7.

I'm on mobile, but if you tag @iconian or message him, they might be able to work some SD Affiliate Partner magic and get a coupon code

Hopefully you don't have to change the transmission or differential fluids anytime soon. What a pain it is on the s5. The subframe x brace comes out and those bolts are not reusable. Im trying to buy a stubby hex set so hopefully wont have to take off that brace. I think Audi now lists these fluids as "Lifetime" but lifetime to them is only up until the warranty period.

Lexivon is made in the same factories in Taiwan as a dozen other "brands" on Amazon, but Lexivon costs more. Don't pay more for the same tools.

The EPAuto 13 Piece Security Torx set is identical and cheaper than Lexivon: https://smile.amazon.com/13-Piece...01M1D1EZ4/

AMM 9 Piece Impact socket adapters set is identical and cheaper than Lexivon: https://smile.amazon.com/AMM-9-Pi...08YN9WZQQ/

EPAuto torque wrenches are identical and cheaper (some by almost $10) than Lexivon: https://smile.amazon.com/EPAuto-2...01LX4NIFK/

ARTIPOLY Hex Key set is identical and cheaper than Lexivon: https://smile.amazon.com/ARTIPOLY...08K8B2BNR/
Or if you really want the plastic tray DISEN hex key set is still identical and cheaper than Lexivon: https://smile.amazon.com/36-Piece...08T6Q4WF8/

Not saying Lexivon tools are bad quality or anything but they do have a history of shilling on sites like SD, and other tools are identical and cheaper even with these "sale" prices. Shop around before you buy.

In before Lexivon shills come post about how the *identical* Lexivon tools are so much better than these, or how Lexivon customer support got in a helicopter and hand delivered a replacement hex key in 15 minutes as part of the "lifetime warranty".

TLDR: Lexivon is a (shill) marketing company not a tool company. Buy the tool, not the shilled hype.

People are happy with Safety Torx's for Audis I guess, but make sure that what you are looking at is a Torx and not Triple Square.

Pretty much all BOLTS, i.e. large, structural fasteners around suspension, subframes etc, that might look like torx (6-point star, with edges at ~60 degrees) are actually triple square, i.e. 12 point, 90 degree edges.

VW Group uses Torx mostly for screws that hold plastic covers and panels together. Do not jam a Torx bit in a Tripple square bolt and give it a try.

Amazon had the same group of items on sale back in August. Items were $2 to $3 cheaper back then. I bought the torch kit in Oct. 2020 for $24 vs the $34 now. It works OK but nearly impossible to solder with.

Excellent point to make. Our oil drain plug was (changed it to a regular hex) a security torx, but I'm pretty sure the axle bolts are triple square. Probably most of the higher grade chassis and drivetrain bolts are trips.

Paid same prices for 1/2" and 3/8" torques 3-4 weeks ago. Not sure these are big drops.

To be fair they do have an excellent warranty. I broke a torq socket (really was my fault because I wasn't paying attention to how I was cranking it on a weird angle) 2 days after emailing them, even without my receipt, I got a replacement in my mailbox. Perhaps the identical brands have just as good service but I don't have experience with them so I don't know. And, it's nice to have matching sets of tools instead of 8 different brands
