Was about to bite but I believe that these older XT2s come with a Sync Module that doesn't support USB storage. This means you need a Blink subscription to view and store recorded videos…

I'm too much of cheap basterd to pay monthly fees unfortunately so these cams are no go for me. Shame, as they seem very decent for the price…

XT,XT2 and Indoor gen 1 have 7200s of cloud storage irrespective of when you bought it. The subscription only applies to other blink devices. Credit to justwanna.

Not true, I have the old versions and never paid subscription ever, you get X amount of free storage … never been even 5% full

I think you need a Sync Module for these cameras that come with the Kits. If you already own a Sync Module, adding additional cameras for $12.99 each is a steal IMO.

The problem is that the older XT2 cams come with first generation Sync Modules that don't support USB storage. This means you need to pay a monthly subscription fee or the cams are relatively useless. (Just supports Live Streaming without subscription)

If these XT2 cams came with an USB storage Sync Module I wouldn't hesitate to purchase as the price seems like a deal IMO.

Very curious....states will NOT. work with USB storage, since XT2 comes with cloud storage.... which must be dated info - now if you only buy the cameras and buy a "sync 2" module separately...maybe then....

I believe you are right that XT2 cams are cloud storage only it seems; direct quote from the Sync Module 2 listing at Amazon... [amazon.com]

While older Blink cameras, like the XT2, do work with the new Blink Sync Module 2, they will not support the local storage feature. (Local storage only works with the new Blink Outdoor, Indoor and Mini cameras.)
