Was about to bite but I believe that these older XT2s come with a Sync Module that doesn't support USB storage. This means you need a Blink subscription to view and store recorded videos…

I'm too much of cheap basterd to pay monthly fees unfortunately so these cams are no go for me. Shame, as they seem very decent for the price…

XT,XT2 and Indoor gen 1 have 7200s of cloud storage irrespective of when you bought it. The subscription only applies to other blink devices. Credit to justwanna.

Not true, I have the old versions and never paid subscription ever, you get X amount of free storage … never been even 5% full

Tempting, but only acceptable left. I've the 4 camera for $200 still in the packing from Costco. I'd jump on this if it was used-very good.

Great cameras, great price. I started with the Blink XT2 prior to the change with subscriptions when I added one of the newer outdoor models I was still able to get the free cloud storage for clips. This is not the most comprehensive security system but it's very very easy to set up and it provides decent monitoring. Battery life depends on the amount of activity but I don't think the 2-year claim is very realistic. I have a pretty active monitoring area and I would say, I get about 7 to 9 months. I really like that even though you are not into free cloud storage, the use of these cameras still allow new accounts to still get free storage for as long as you use this model.

Bought a 3 pack myself; so if I don't have an existing blink account (no grandfathered setup), is what I bought enough to get free storage? Do I need a sync module? Or does this come with everything I'll need to set it up?

A bit confused still but happy about the $50 price. Thanks OP!

You are good to go. The only thing you might need are lithium aa batteries, I don't think they will come with any since the kit is used. You will still get free cloud storage for your clips and live view for as long as you use the XT2. If you upgrade to any of the newer models you will not have free storage on those because you are not grandfathered.

Just to give all an update. I ordered the add on for 12.99 under acceptable. Came via Amazon logistics and was brand new sealed.

Yes. I have one of my XT2 camera runs on regular alkaline batteries. The module does not like that but works just fine.

I bought the 2-camera system over two years ago. One of the camera works great, still runs on the original battery come with the package after over 2 years. The other one may be defected, run out of battery very quick (maybe last 2-3 months). So, I just put in regular alkaline batteries I got from Office Depot deals. It seems to last 2-3 months as well depending on the motion detections. I ordered two more add-on cameras and hope these add-on units from Woot work as specs (2-years battery time).

My understanding is that if you are an old Blink customer (before XT2) then your cloud storage is free and new cameras are 'grandfathered in'.

Adding 2 more cameras much cheaper than my first 5!
