Citi Custom Cash 5% credit card: new, better offer to earn $300 after $1000 spend available online

For those unaware, the Citi Custom Cash is a relatively new card that gives 5% back on up to $500 of spending each billing cycle in the category you spend in most (e.g. groceries, dining, gas). No having to figure out what the current quarter's bonus category is to get 5% back.
Previously the only offer available online for this card was $200 on $750 of spending in the first 3 months. You can browse that thread for more info and comments about the card. (There was a $300 offer available in Citi branches, but those are only found in major US cities.)
To find this offer, simply log in to Credit Karma and browse suggested credit card offers and you should see it. Alternatively, you can find a direct link on this reddit thread. I'm not posting the direct link itself as I'm assuming SD will mangle the URL.

Since certain Citi credit card like Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card no longer available, people with that card probably already asked to change to this credit card. But you can easily call Citi to check if you didn't receive any email/mail to ask to switch.
Of course if you switch from other Citi card, you may not get the new credit card promotion mentioned. But switching from other Citi card likely avoid any new application and credit bureaus hard inquiry.
Keep in mind, if you product change, you'll be losing the intro offer $300 back $1000 spend. However, it does save you a hard inquiry from your credit report. Just pick whichever one you prefer.
The GC would be purchased directly at a Verizon store
Just use this card to buy the Verizon GC at a grocery store like the previous reply suggested - assuming you make this your grocery card. If you make it your gas card you could probably also find a gas station that sells Verizon GCs.

Are you referring to the Verizon gift card for pre-paid wireless? I haven't seen any grocery store carry the one that works on FIOS

So it's 5% on $500 each month basically?
So if I were to use this card only for my Verizon gift card purchase at the store each month for $500, I would get 5% CB each month?
I do this because this allows me to keep my Verizon autopay discount and use my current 5% Amex on cellular purchases.
However, Verizon has started to code those instore gift card purchases differently so my Amex is no longer giving me 5% CB on them
I use Paypal Key with my Verizon to link my credit card. Can you like Amex with Paypal Key?
