Free installation won't include transformer replacement (if needed), that's a separate service which is 49.99 installed. This one requires that you have an existing doorbell wired in your home. Doorbell will ring your indoor chime but it can be disabled via nest app if you prefer to just use app and/or smart speakers to announce. Really nice if you have more than 1 doorbell as it announces which doorbell is "ringing". Can also set quiet times for kids naptime or if you're doing video meetings.
The Nest subscription is $60 or $120 if paid annually, both of which include all nest cameras not per cam. $60 includes 30 day event history, familiar faces and zones to prevent alerts. $120 adds another 30 day history and 10 days of 24/7 history. Without subscription you can look back 3 hours only.
The OnTech + membership is good for a year and doesn't auto renew. It includes 10% off products and 10-20% off installation. Return window is increased to 60 days. The OnTech Smart Support app gives you unlimited tech support via call (US based) or chat and through handy how-to guides.
So I actually opted out of the free installation as it looked to be a month out in my area and It should be simple. It also said if you do need a transformer for it to work with your existing chime that they would charge $65 for that (which might be worth it to others, but not me). I also didn't add the google mini so that I could use code "dish10" to get an extra $13.50 off the price of the doorbell. I have 2 unused mini's at the moment anyway.
For wired, this is the new version of Nest Doorbell. The new version is actually a downgrade of the old version which was called Nest Hello cam and had the Nest logo instead of Google logo.
"While the Nest Hello cam offered a 1600 x 1200 HD video resolution at 30 frames per second, the Nest Doorbell drops that down to 960 x 1280. The camera lens itself took a similar hit, dropping from 3 megapixels to 1.3MP. The field of view was also shortened from 160 degrees (diagonal) to 145 degrees."
Just FYI, google is releasing the 2nd gen version of this doorbell next year. No confirmed dates as of yet, but I'm holding off for that reason. These 1st gens will likely drop once again once 2nd gen release.
I want to pull the trigger but my molding outside where the doorbell is offset, if that makes sense. A bit worried it won't be able to be mounted flush. Anyone else have this issue?

Apparently you can wire the battery cam too. Both seem to have 24/7 recording history, but with their highest monthly subscription of $12. I may be wrong.
But I also pulled the trigger. Let's see how it goes.
Yes and No.
Yes, battery one can be wired too.
No, even if its wired it doesn't have 24/7 recording
My current wired doorbell is perpendicular to the door on the side wall. I wonder if the installation would include moving the doorbell location to the same wall so it can better face the walkway and street?

Probably need an angle mount. Doubt they'll move wiring.
I called their customer support and got a deal for Nest doorbell wired version(free installation) + google mini(Free) + On tech plus membership + myQ® LiftMaster Smart Garage™ Control & Installation Bundle = $251
I have a old wired doorbell and just bought this. Does anyone know how the doorbell chime will work? I called the company and they were no help. Do I need to buy something else? Does it somehow tie into the existing hardwired chime I have on my wall for my existing old school doorbell? Thanks

If will work with most existing chimes.

Looking to pickup a Google Nest Doorbell (wired). This seems like a good deal. I'd skip the free install, as it's likely easier for me to just do it vs wait on someone else. Simple enough install for an existing wired doorbell.
But, I see many selling 'new' unopened on eBay for less. $110-120 range. Any reason to buy here vs eBay?
