If you can edit the title or first post you might want to include MR Membership Reward points, assuming that's what you're talking about

You only need to use one "point" to get a discount? Can't tell from the title or OP.

The discount is how many points the cards cost. AMEX has been offering discounted gift cards for years, and the cards offered are definitely YMMV. I usually get Home Depot and a couple other brands I never use. Screenshot is my list from this month. It changes/rotates every month.

Thanks for the post, not a great deal for most people.

With the discount, points value is about 0.94 cents per point ($10 GC for 941 points). Most people/sites value MR points at about 2 cents per point, so "meh"...

1000 cents / 941pts = 1.0627 cents per point. As far as I know, only travel, and airline point transfers get you better.

There was a way to cash out MR points for more through having charles schwab version of platinum but that's pretty advanced hack not for everyone and it's over anyways so if you are not into traveling at all, then yeah redeeming for gift card might be the best option. However, if that's your only option then you are collecting wrong points... MR point is for traveling. There are many cards with low annual fee that gives you straight 2% or higher cashbacks. Non travelers should be looking into those kinds of cards. Airline transfer to book international business seat is only way for me to use MR points. I can buy these gift cards at often over 10% off as much as I want using other tricks so no need to burn precious MR points.

I've had 50k points for a long time from a sign up bonus and had hoped to use them for for a European vacation, but that seems like it might not happen for a while. Just doesn't seem worth it until traveling is fun again. If I was in the market for a macbook, I would cash them out but I'm holding them for now. Unused points aren't worth much, sometimes you just have to use them all and start over!

Totally agree that a 2% card is the best for most everyone, and usually no yearly fee. I have a couple of them.

Awesome find, thank you very much. Had it eligible on my American Express EveryDay card. Got a bunch of Ruth's Chris and other stuff on the cheap..I wasn't going to ever use it for travel so these deals worked out very nicely. Thanks OP.

It's not over -- they just nerfed it from 1.25 cents per MR to 1.1 cents.

It certainly is YMMV.

In my offers, I see $15 back if $100 GC from happycards.com is purchased by 12/31/2021.

All I see is cb2 and california pizza. I am about to cancel my platinum card. Trying to best use my 165k points and I don't travel. Any ideas of the best way to burn them?
