Not bad, got my eye on this one, last year it was on sale for $1200.

Some reviews/tips:

Thanks for the links! I watched the first review video and looks more like an infomercial than a pro/con review. Anyone own one could give some more thoughts on it? The YouTube comments are interesting about several people making complaints.

Currently using a Nespresso Machine + Instant Coffe + Starbucks for my caffeine requirements and thinking about upgrading to this for simplicity as well as better quality coffee / variety.

Thanks OP! I was going to get the Gaggia Magenta Prestige after missing out on the CostCo Jura ENA8 deal. This is much better.

One Question: the newsletter signup generates a 15% code that cannot be combined with the sale offer. How do you get the 20% that does?
It wasn't showing up when I was using Chrome, even with my popup blocker off, but when I switched to Firefox it popped up the holiday coupon signup. This was from just going to the link that OP posted.

Philips won't adjust price. Also one day past return period..

Wanted to add, I am a coffee noob who was looking for a gift for my Biggby cappuccino loving wife.

This super-auto is great. It's fool-proof and fast. We don't have time to fool around with semi-autos. Admittedly, I don't know jack about coffee, but I think the espresso is delicious (Lavazza Gran Riserva beans on '2' grinder setting). The milk drinks are great also, and my wife doesn't have to go out for coffee anymore. One month in, and I have picked up a serious coffee addiction. It's kind of like safe, delicious, legal cocaine.
Will they make an exception to being one day late on return? Lock that return in then?

I have had saeco intelia since 2013 and pulled minimum of 6000 shots since then and love it. Still going strong even with occasional oily beans. I keep mine well maintained, granted its maintenance is pretty cheap and easy.

This one seems to be the fancier version of what I have. The brew group looks identical; however I think this one may have two thermoblocks.

I bought one for $1700 after 15% coupon code a month ago. I love it. Bummed that I spent $400 more than I could have got it for now!
Theres been comments that the drinks dont get hot enough. Have you had issues with your drinks being lukewarm?

Also how is the cleaning of the unit? Any issues so far?

Anyone know if Philips will keep the Saeco brand or will it be phased out? Hate to get into this machine to find out it no longer exists after a few years.

How does this compare to a Jura E8. I have only ever had Jura products but I am willing to invest of this is a good deal.

After I moved away and no longer have a Jura my Keurig from college is NOT making the cut.
I tried this one (or one similar) at William Sonoma and bought a Delonghi Elatta (which I then returned) from Costco before ultimately getting the Jura E8. Biggest issue with the others was the coffee was luke warm if you made a drink with milk. Not the case with the Jura. It was more $, but worth every penny.

Is there anything that can compete for $600-700 range? I would love to ditch the nespresso.

I was about to pull the trigger on the Gaggia Magenta Prestige too until I saw this Saeco unit.

Now I cant decide which one to get. Anyone have any input to this model and how you like it and the maintenance factor?

Are there any real differences in terms of the espresso quality between these Saeco Philips machine tiers? Seems to me like it's all or mostly superficial since the mechanical brew group is identical or very similar between models.

What's the maintenance on these? Thanks!

Made in Italy, color touchscreen, higher end look, more pre-programmed drinks, apparently better microfoam. It does have a bigger footprint which is a con. I was going to wait on a Philips 5400 from Williams Sonoma but got the Xelsis instead (for $1700) and don't regret it.
I was gonna wait 5400 as well. I heard Lattego series is the best for maintaining milk parts and I prefer the easiest way of maintenance. I see this machine uses a tube for milk. How is the maintenance for this machine?
