Good question.

So it's possible, the registered warranty may be impacted, but you can always try to have their CS move the warranty over or something.

Some retailers do track and correlate items shipped to individual item's serial number, especially for high value items like this one is.

Tricky situation to be frank.

You may want to casually ask their CS anonymously without referencing your orders.

I could just clean and box up the old one. I would rather just keep it and send them back a pristine one. I hate to cost them more money for nothing, seems like bad karma. If this swap works, I am going to save like $520. It's worth a gamble at least to send back the new one.

I love mine too. I wish it didn't take up so much counter space but it makes very good drinks.

No. Unfortunately this is one flaw of this machine.

Been looking for a while and was going to get the Dilonghi Dimanica or the Gaggia Magenta.
After looking at all this features and the price after code. This has all that I want in a super automatic.
My only concern is the bad reviews about the machine breaking down/durability issues and the lukewarm milk drinks.
Thoughts from current owners? Any issues at all? I'm ready to pull the trigger but hate to buy the wrong machine.

All of the Saeco's use the tube, even the newest ones that are available in Europe. Look up the Xelsis Suprema, who knows when that will come to the US, but it looks pretty sweet. One benefit is you don't need the carafe, you can just stick the tube in any milk container. My wife uses the carafe for her half & half, and I just stick the tube in a carton of oat milk.

One month in, the maintenance is simple.

The super milky drinks like macchiato are somewhat lukewarm I suppose but the coffee itself it very hot. Personally, I don't like my coffee scalding hot so it's not an issue for me.
Thanks for your reply. The new Suprema looks gorgeous and really like UI. But I have looked how to clean milk system compare to Philips line. It's probably easier than other high end brands like Jura, but it still needs weekly cappuccinatore cleaning and monthly deep cleaning that I could forget according to how to clean video which isn't needed in LatteGo. Even this one make better drink, I prefer easy to maintain overall right now, so I will wait 5400.

At risk of sounding like an idiot I must ask… how does this compare to the Breville Barista Express? I want to get a decent (first) machine and wasn't planning on spending this much, but maybe I could be convinced if this is better in many ways.

I got the 20% off offer via a pop-up after a few secs on the site.

It sent a like w/ a code.

Code appears to be case sensitive. Lowercase didn't work.

Important: Enter voucher code or gift card number including uppercase letters and hyphens where applicable.

Two different types of machines. Watch some YouTube videos to get a better idea.

I think with the barista, it's possible to get a better drink. However, and this is the key for me: you need to grind, tamp, make the drink, clean up. Some people say this is part of the fun and worth it to get a better drink. Other people don't have time for that every morning and just want a 1 button solution.

There are also cheaper super automatics than this one. The magnifica xs was just on sale a few days ago for $450. The major difference between that and this is milk frothing. This machine will automatically froth and add your milk also. Most super autos under $1k require manual frothing with their wand.

Theres been comments that the drinks dont get hot enough. Have you had issues with your drinks being lukewarm?

Also how is the cleaning of the unit? Any issues so far?

Anyone know if Philips will keep the Saeco brand or will it be phased out? Hate to get into this machine to find out it no longer exists after a few years.
I have an older Xelsis, for which low milk temp was a common and valid complaint. I was able to increase milk temp by as much as 20 degrees F by replacing the dip tube with one of smaller internal diameter. Even with a smaller ID, the tube is flexible enough for the restrictor to fit inside. Just order some food grade silicone tubing from Grainger or similar. Cost me less than $20 with shipping.

Phillips, or their parts vendor, also sells a dip tube set with 3 different IDs to get the milk temp you want. Comes with at least one restrictor that seems to have a smaller bore and thus further the slower flow, hotter milk effect.

Great machines.

I have a bunch of 25% off codes (for being a first responder) which would save you additional $80. Willing to exchange for Amazon GC. PM me.
Currently OOS but code from wazzupeh is legit, and was sent fast. These tend to go in and out of stock so if they keep the $1599 price its a good deal. Some may have amex 6% as well.

Thank you. Will keep that in mind if I find out the milk drinks are not as hot. I was able to purchase before going OOS. Excited to get this super automatic!

Now, what do you guys recommend for the first bag of coffee beans to use? I like my drinks with full flavor and dark roast. Suggestions?

I also like a full flavor dark roast. I am on my first bag of Lavazza Gran Riserva with grinder setting at 2, and I don't plan on trying any others. I don't know much about coffee but in my opinion it makes great espresso and milk drinks. I get the 2.2lb bag and store them in an Airscape Kilo canister.

My first bag was Lavazza Super Crema and second bag was Zingerman's Espresso Blend #1. The Super Crema was good, but the Zingerman's gave me sour shots.

Supers often struggle with dark beans (oil), but if you found one that doesn't cause problems, no reason not to use it. Lavazza good beans and I second the Airscape reccommendation. I run my Xelsis on the finest grind (anything coarser and the espresso is not good - I may need to open it up and move the burrs closer together, but finest setting works great).

We use Espresso 700 from Kaldi's Coffee in St. Louis. Not dark, but their house roast and consistently fantastic. Used to be available on Amazon, but best to order directly from them. Free shipping over $30. The key, no matter what you buy, is to use beans within a month of roasting. Some would say within 2 weeks.
