Best Buy is offering the Samsung HW-Q850A Soundbar for a good price. Previous low I found was $699.99.

This is one of the little brothers to the HW-Q950A, along with the closer HW-Q900A. RTings.com thinks well of the HW-Q850A, giving it 7.9 for mixed usage, vs 8.2 for the HW-Q900A, and 8.4 for the HW-Q900A - all of which are top notch scores, which means this product line is really packing and apparently fairly consistent across the range.

This may be a good opportunity to save some bucks if you had wanted it's big brother, the HW-Q950A, but are willing to compromise slightly to save a lot of money.

Been waiting for weeks now for the q950a price to drop that low again, but went ahead just pulled the trigger today for this q850a. Hope I won't regret it!

I have been on the fence with this. I almost got the open box excellent for 5 ish but see it's gone now. Guess I will debate some more.

I'm actually with you, waiting for the same, but I looked into that and had to wonder if the $800ish vendor previously seen here was sketchy, as I couldn't find a similar price history from any major vendors. Lately can't get anything below 1200 aside from the recent Amazon offer I missed - we probably have to wait for better manufacturer price cuts and incentives. Fingers crossed that green toe comes through for us. -ix

There was nothing "sketchy" about the 950A deal. It was $1000 + $200 Amazon credit that expires. I got in on the deal but decided to cancel it before it shipped because I didn't like the idea of being forced to buy $200 worth of items on Amazon before a certain date. I also had the Jbl 9.1 Atmos from the $450 deal at Verizon at the time. I ended up selling it. I decided I want to go the Sonos route for expandability.

The output from the soundbar dropped suddenly two weeks ago. I tried resetting the sound bar but nothing worked. I would save up for something better. Plus the rear ones are wired to a hub. I did try to connect the wireless ones swa 9500s but they are not compatible.

I have also been waiting for the q950a to drop again. I found it cheaper through another seller's website but the reviews of that seller were not convincing. The same seller also sells on Newegg, but Best Buy would not price match.

Looking for a good soundbar to pair with a lg tv in the bedroom

It's a decent size room but want mostly clear dialogue more than anything else.

I assume this is over kill but what's a good choice?

Does anyone know how many watts per speaker the wireless rear speaker amp provide? I have been thinking about doing this for my secondary room and save some space in my rack for other equipment.

Honestly , for 400 bucks the Vizio 5.1.4 Costco 46" is a much better deal than this , unless you desperately need newer sound enhancements and earc. I had the Q850t and the Vizio blows it out of the water. Especially if you love bass.
If you are waiting for the 950a to drop, I don't think the 850a will satisfy you in the least.
