*EDIT* shit.... I'm in Minnesota. $220 here. Well, I didn't want to build a new PC until I can get a 3080 anyways. Le sigh.

anybody can tell if it will add performance (mostly gaming)?

The i7 is a step above a 3600, but not the best upgrade path here.

The new generation chips moving forward will have this big.LITTLE design, efficiency and performance cores, and be a more noticeable change from what you have now.
I looked around the store at 6pm and there was still a bunch of the cpus in the shelf (bottom right side of the intel one). Employees and manager have no idea when the price will end, but I have a feeling it may be soon if it wasn't tonight.
Honestly having a hard time deciding whether to pull the trigger or not since my i5-2500k/GTX1070 setup is still running smoothly (aside from the usual HDD replacements after ~5 years, but been swapping out to SSDs). But then I just got a 3070 TI FE... or should I wait for a 3080 and go 12th gen? Decisions decisions...
If you can get a price match this is an awesome deal but you may end up wasting a lot of time dealing with CS and getting nowhere.
