You can get two pounds of honey for like $10-12 from local bee keepers. I get 5 pounds for $40, but I can also get it for half off because of SNAP benefits at a local farmers' market.

I make jam with the honey, but how much do people on here use?
32oz is $16 here

I love when I buy honey and the label says Ingredients: Honey
Kinda like when buying a pack of almonds and it says "Warning: Contains nuts" and "Processed in a facility that also processes nuts"

Ok... Got it. Thanks for the warning Smilie

Depends on the year. Mine was super cloudy this year...last year was fairly clear.

No, that means water got into the honey some how or you live in a high humidity climate. It's crystalizing more than normal. Still safe and good though.

New Jersey. Am I being ripped off? Is this low quality for $9 per lb?

I would say your OK. I live in Missouri and our local honey has the same problem. Early honey will be cloudier from all of the spring rains, or if we have a higher than normal humid summer, it could be cloudy.

In a way, you have proof that you're actually getting raw honey and not processed.

Edit: Here's a good read on it. https://beehour.com/how-to-clear-...xtraction/

How does this price compare to Costco?
This is $0.17 per oz (or $0.16 with subscribe and save) and Costco is $0.19 per oz.

Will this work ok for making mead? I've done it before, and I think I paid like $5/lb a few years ago. At this price, I could get more bang for my buck.

32oz? Holy Cow! We can't get through a 12oz in my home w/o it turns crystallized.
