Wanna get it for a 900sq ft apt. Gonna use it for PS5 gaming and normal streaming. Can anyone recommend this? Reviews on Amazon are conflicting.

I don't game, but I use it to stream 4K video, and it works great. As for the range it is good. It covers my entire 1200 square foot residence plus my yard. I even get the 5Ghz band in my yard.

Yeah, this is a great router. I've got one about a year ago and it is rock solid reliable and easy to manage using the Tether app on your phone. For a 900 Sqft apartment, this will handle that with ease. I've got mine in a 2800 Sqft house with about 40 devices connecting to it at various times throughout the day and it doesn't miss a beat, even when during the pandemic both me my wife were working from home and all three of our kids were doing their school lessons remotely via Zoom. We've got a 400 Mbps connection and I can get a solid 300 Mbps connection anywhere in the house and a 60 Mbps out in the backyard work-shed, which is about 140 feet from the router in the center of our house.

Highly recommended.

You would actually have to buy a tp-link range extender(s) to use the mesh setup

I checked the reviews on amazon. Here's the deal. most people that have a problem don't know how to set it up so you probably have to be a little tech savy to get this to work. There was one reviewer that said this model still used SSL v2 which is bad but there is a patch which is not available. Does this really break the bank.. it depends on how big your apartment building is.. this might not be the one for you. For a home then I would say go ahead it's probably fine but in an apartment building you get a pretty high list of people that can see your router.

Wouldn't this other one be a better deal? It's cheaper and seems faster, Is there something I'm missing here?

|Yes but is this the model that supports it? on tp-links website it says ax-10 is the model that supports it. The specs are the same but Walmart shows the manufacturer model number for this router as ax-1500.
